哈巴谷書2:18-20

2:18 雕刻的偶像，人將它刻出來，有甚麼益處呢？鑄造的偶像就是虛謊的師傅。製造者倚靠這啞巴偶像有甚麼益處呢？

2:19 對木偶說：醒起！對啞巴石像說：起來！那人有禍了！這個還能教訓人嗎？看哪，是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息。

2:20 惟耶和華在他的聖殿中；全地的人都當在他面前肅敬靜默。

"What profit is an idol

when its maker has shaped it,

a metal image, a teacher of lies?

For its maker trusts in his own creation

when he makes speechless idols!

Woe to him who says to a wooden thing, Awake;

to a silent stone, Arise!

Can this teach?

Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver,

and there is no breath at all in it.

But the Lord is in his holy temple;

 let all the earth keep silence before him."

    偶像雖然做的像人、像各樣的動物，但是都是只有形體，沒有能力。雖然很像，卻不是真的，是虛假的，是沒有生命！一切的偶像，都是人造的，人反過來拜它。

    上帝雖然看不見，但是他的榮耀卻充滿全地，正如保羅所說：「自從造天地以來，上帝的永能和神性是明明可知的，雖是眼不能見，但藉著所造之物就可以曉得，叫人無可推諉。」（羅馬書1:20）

    然而因為人的罪性，「雖然知道上帝，卻不當作上帝榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思念變為虛妄，無知的心就昏暗了。」（羅馬書1:21）

    透過耶穌基督的拯救與聖靈的啟示，我們才可以離開罪惡的影響力，才能感受上帝的榮耀，生命被更新，來歸向上帝。

哈巴谷書2:15-17

2:15 給人酒喝、又加上毒物、使他喝醉、好看見他下體的有禍了！

2:16 你滿受羞辱，不得榮耀；你也喝吧，顯出是未受割禮的！耶和華右手的杯必傳到你那裡；你的榮耀就變為大大地羞辱。

2:17 你向黎巴嫩行強暴與殘害驚嚇野獸的事必遮蓋你；因你殺人流血，向國內的城並城中一切居民施行強暴。

"Woe to him who makes his neighbors drink—

you pour out your wrath and make them drunk,

in order to gaze at their nakedness!

You will have your fill of shame instead of glory.

 Drink, yourself, and show your uncircumcision!

 The cup in the Lord's right hand

will come around to you,

and utter shame will come upon your glory!

The violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you,

as will the destruction of the beasts that terrified them,

 for the blood of man and violence to the earth,

to cities and all who dwell in them.

    這裡告訴我們惡者的行為，雖然使別人羞辱，卻是造成自己的羞辱！這是上帝給惡者最大的懲罰，一切的惡果都要自己承擔，不是別人害他的，是自己害自己的！

    這也告訴我們犯罪者自己要承擔自己犯罪的後果，若是人不願意尋求上帝，謙卑在上帝面前承認自己的不義，必定會惡更加的惡，到最後連回頭的機會都沒有了！

    所以，基督徒要透過不斷的悔改與認罪，使自己脫離罪惡，進入上帝的光明之中！

哈巴谷書2:12-14

2:12 以人血建城、以罪孽立邑的有禍了！

2:13 眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空，不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

2:14 認識耶和華榮耀的知識要充滿遍地，好像水充滿洋海一般。

"Woe to him who builds a town with blood

and founds a city on iniquity!

Behold, is it not from the Lord of hosts

that peoples labor merely for fire,

and nations weary themselves for nothing?

For the earth will be filled

with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord

as the waters cover the sea.

    巴比倫帝國是當時的強權勢力，侵略的各族各國，殺人無數。以至於「眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空」。這就是侵略者所造成的傷害，也使人因世間的不公義，轉而尋求公義的上帝。

    基督徒不是和平主義者，卻是尋求真正的公義，因為唯有真正的公義，才有真正的平安，才有真正的和平，也才有真正的幸福。

    也因此，人要追求認識耶和華，也唯有如此「認識耶和華榮耀的知識要充滿遍地，好像水充滿洋海一般」。因為人要尋找和平和幸福！而對基督徒而言，這些都要在耶穌基督裡才能尋見，才能得著！
