1:1 耶和華從會幕中呼叫摩西，對他說：
1:2 「你曉諭以色列人說：你們中間若有人獻供物給耶和華，要從牛群羊群中獻牲畜為供物。
1:3 「他的供物若以牛為燔祭，就要在會幕門口獻一隻沒有殘疾的公牛，可以在耶和華面前蒙悅納。
1:4 他要按手在燔祭牲的頭上，燔祭便蒙悅納，為他贖罪。
1:5 他要在耶和華面前宰公牛；亞倫子孫作祭司的，要奉上血，把血灑在會幕門口、壇的周圍。
1:6 那人要剝去燔祭牲的皮，把燔祭牲切成塊子。
1:7 祭司亞倫的子孫要把火放在壇上，把柴擺在火上。
1:8 亞倫子孫作祭司的，要把肉塊和頭並脂油擺在壇上火的柴上。
1:9 但燔祭的臟腑與腿要用水洗。祭司就要把一切全燒在壇上，當作燔祭，獻與耶和華為馨香的火祭。
1:10 「人的供物若以綿羊或山羊為燔祭，就要獻上沒有殘疾的公羊。
1:11 要把羊宰於壇的北邊，在耶和華面前；亞倫子孫作祭司的，要把羊血灑在壇的周圍。
1:12 要把燔祭牲切成塊子，連頭和脂油，祭司就要擺在壇上火的柴上；
1:13 但臟腑與腿要用水洗，祭司就要全然奉獻，燒在壇上。這是燔祭，是獻與耶和華為馨香的火祭。
1:14 「人奉給耶和華的供物，若以鳥為燔祭，就要獻斑鳩或是雛鴿為供物。
1:15 祭司要把鳥拿到壇前，揪下頭來，把鳥燒在壇上；鳥的血要流在壇的旁邊；
1:16 又要把鳥的嗉子和髒物（髒物：或譯翎毛）除掉，丟在壇的東邊倒灰的地方。
1:17 要拿著鳥的兩個翅膀，把鳥撕開，只是不可撕斷；祭司要在壇上、在火的柴上焚燒。這是燔祭，是獻與耶和華為馨香的火祭。」

The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting. He said, 2 “Speak to
the Israelites and say to them: ‘When anyone among you brings an offering to
the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.
3 “‘If the offering is a burnt
offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must
present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable
to the Lord. 4 You are to
lay your hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on
your behalf to make atonement for you. 5 You are to slaughter the young bull before the Lord, and then Aaron’s sons the priests shall bring the blood and splash
it against the sides of the altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
6 You are to skin the
burnt offering and cut it into pieces. 7 The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the
altar and arrange wood on the fire. 8 Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the
pieces, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the
altar. 9 You
are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to
burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma
pleasing to the Lord.10 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect. 11 You are to slaughter it at the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar. 12 You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar. 13 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to bring all of them and burn them on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
14 “‘If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon. 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He is to remove the crop and the feathers[a] and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes are. 17 He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the wood that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

燔祭又稱為燒化祭，是要將所獻的祭牲完全燒在祭壇上。這也讓我們想到主耶穌為了贖我們的罪過，親自成為祭物，在十字架上完全擺上，因此蒙上帝的喜悅，使我們因著主耶穌的贖罪而蒙上帝悅納！
我們與上帝可以和好，建立美好的關係，成為上帝的兒女，我們應當存感謝的心！因為若不是上帝設立救恩，並且執意讓耶穌基督持為被殺羔羊，全然獻上，我們仍然是在罪中，並且永遠沉淪！
我們到上帝面前敬拜，就是要感謝與尊崇上帝如此偉大的做為！因此，我們在上帝面前，沒有甚麼好自誇的，怪不得保羅說：「但我斷不以別的誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；因這十字架，就我而論，世界已經釘在十字架上；就世界而論，我已經釘在十字架上。」（加拉太書6:14）
