詩篇8:1-9
8:1 （大衛的詩，交與伶長。用迦特樂器。）耶和華─我們的主啊，你的名在全地何其美！你將你的榮耀彰顯於天。
8:2 你因敵人的緣故，從嬰孩和吃奶的口中，建立了能力，使仇敵和報仇的閉口無言。
8:3 我觀看你指頭所造的天，並你所陳設的月亮星宿，
8:4 便說：人算甚麼，你竟顧念他？世人算甚麼，你竟眷顧他？
8:5 你叫他比天使（或譯：上帝）微小一點，並賜他榮耀尊貴為冠冕。
8:6 你派他管理你手所造的，使萬物，就是一切的牛羊、田野的獸、空中的鳥、海裡的魚，凡經行海道的，都服在他的腳下。

the work of your fingers,

上帝在造人的時候說：「我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人，使他們管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切昆蟲。」上帝就照著自己的形像造人，乃是照著他的形像造男造女。上帝就賜福給他們，又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」(創世記1:26-28)
表示上帝要透過祂所造的人，將祂的榮光充滿在祂所創造的天地之間！所以，詩人會在這裡頌讚上帝：「耶和華─我們的主啊，你的名在全地何其美！你將你的榮耀彰顯於天。」
而詩人在此也歌頌上帝透過人彰顯祂的榮耀：「人算甚麼，你竟顧念他？世人算甚麼，你竟眷顧他？你叫他比天使（或譯：上帝）微小一點，並賜他榮耀尊貴為冠冕。你派他管理你手所造的，使萬物，就是一切的牛羊、田野的獸、空中的鳥、海裡的魚，凡經行海道的，都服在他的腳下。」
這也告訴我們，人的尊榮不是自己努力做甚麼而得著，而是上帝主動的做為，是祂自己將榮耀賦予人，這是何等的慈愛與憐憫！

利未記22:26-33
22:26 耶和華曉諭摩西說：
22:27 「才生的公牛，或是綿羊或是山羊，七天當跟著母；從第八天以後，可以當供物蒙悅納，作為耶和華的火祭。
22:28 無論是母牛是母羊，不可同日宰母和子。
22:29 你們獻感謝祭給耶和華，要獻得可蒙悅納。
22:30 要當天吃，一點不可留到早晨。我是耶和華。
22:31 「你們要謹守遵行我的誡命。我是耶和華。
22:32 你們不可褻瀆我的聖名；我在以色列人中，卻要被尊為聖。我是叫你們成聖的耶和華，
22:33 把你們從埃及地領出來，作你們的上帝。我是耶和華。」

26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “When
a calf, a lamb or a goat is born, it is to remain with its mother for seven days.
From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as a food offering presented to
the Lord. 28 Do
not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its young on the same day.
29 “When
you sacrifice a thank offering to the Lord,
sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. 30 It
must be eaten that same day; leave none of it till morning. I am the Lord.
31 “Keep
my commands and follow them. I am the Lord.
32 Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as
holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord,
who made you holy 33 and who brought you out of Egypt to be
your God. I am the Lord.”

敬拜上帝不僅在於獻祭的祭物和儀禮，更重要是在和上帝的關係，所以「你們要謹守遵行我的誡命。我是耶和華。你們不可褻瀆我的聖名；我在以色列人中，卻要被尊為聖。我是叫你們成聖的耶和華，把你們從埃及地領出來，作你們的上帝。我是耶和華。」是整個信仰的重心！
也因為這樣，救恩是在於和上帝的關係，也因為看重這個關係所以我們要敬畏上帝，要清楚回應上帝對我們的呼召，所以我們的德就是有次序的！
救恩次序可以在加爾文所著《基督教要義》第三卷中找到；但此次序又經後來的改革宗神學家所增補。
由改革宗的觀點看來，基督在十字架上所成就的救贖，乃是聖靈的活動(工作)，是一系列的作為與進程，直等到完全的祝福成就在人身上。
改革宗得救的次序可分為：有效的恩召，由此發出重生、相信，以致於稱義、與成聖，至終結果得榮。其中的一些經驗是同時發生的，然而這種事件的步驟非時間性的順序。

22:17 耶和華對摩西說：
22:18 「你曉諭亞倫和他子孫，並以色列眾人說：以色列家中的人，或在以色列中寄居的，凡獻供物，無論是所許的願，是甘心獻的，就是獻給耶和華作燔祭的，
22:19 要將沒有殘疾的公牛，或是綿羊，或是山羊獻上，如此方蒙悅納。
22:20 凡有殘疾的，你們不可獻上，因為這不蒙悅納。
22:21 凡從牛群或是羊群中，將平安祭獻給耶和華，為要還特許的願，或是作甘心獻的，所獻的必純全無殘疾的才蒙悅納。
22:22 瞎眼的、折傷的、殘廢的、有瘤子的、長癬的、長疥的都不可獻給耶和華，也不可在壇上作為火祭獻給耶和華。
22:23 無論是公牛是綿羊羔，若肢體有餘的，或是缺少的，只可作甘心祭獻上；用以還願，卻不蒙悅納。
22:24 腎子損傷的，或是壓碎的，或是破裂的，或是騸了的，不可獻給耶和華，在你們的地上也不可這樣行。
22:25 這類的物，你們從外人的手，一樣也不可接受作你們上帝的食物獻上；因為這些都有損壞，有殘疾，不蒙悅納。」

17 The Lord said to Moses, 18 “Speak
to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of
you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel—presents a gift for
a burnt offering to the Lord,
either to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, 19 you must
present a male without defect from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it
may be accepted on your behalf. 20 Do not bring anything with a
defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf. 21 When
anyone brings from the herd or flock a fellowship offering to the Lord to fulfill a special vow or as a
freewill offering, it must be without defect or blemish to be acceptable. 22 Do
not offer to the Lord the blind,
the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running
sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as a food offering presented to
the Lord. 23 You
may, however, present as a freewill offering an ox[b] or a sheep
that is deformed or stunted, but it will not be accepted in fulfillment of a
vow. 24 You must not offer to the Lord an animal whose testicles are bruised, crushed, torn or
cut. You must not do this in your own land, 25 and you must not
accept such animals from the hand of a foreigner and offer them as the food of
your God. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are deformed
and have defects.’”

上帝曉諭他所喜悅的祭物是怎樣的條件：「凡獻供物，無論是所許的願，是甘心獻的，就是獻給耶和華作燔祭的，要將沒有殘疾的公牛，或是綿羊，或是山羊獻上，如此方蒙悅納。」
因此，獻上的祭物不可以隨便，因為上帝是輕慢不得的！我們希望別人幫助我們做事，就會送好的禮物來取悅人家！同樣，我們給上帝的祭物，也要能使上帝喜歡的，才能使上帝喜悅，大大賜福我們！
然而上帝真正喜悅的祭物是什麼？當然是主耶穌！也因為這樣希伯來書告訴我們：「凡祭司天天站著事奉上帝，屢次獻上一樣的祭物，這祭物永不能除罪。但基督獻了一次永遠的贖罪祭，就在上帝的右邊坐下了。…因為他一次獻祭，便叫那得以成聖的人永遠完全。」（11:11-12,14）
然而上帝為和喜悅耶穌基督親自成為祭物呢？「兒女既同有血肉之體，他也照樣親自成了血肉之體，特要藉著死敗壞那掌死權的，就是魔鬼，並要釋放那些一生因怕死而為奴僕的人。…所以，他凡事該與他的弟兄相同，為要在上帝的事上成為慈悲忠信的大祭司，為百姓的罪獻上挽回祭。」(希伯來書2:14-15,17)

22:10 「凡外人不可吃聖物；寄居在祭司家的，或是雇工人，都不可吃聖物；
22:11 倘若祭司買人，是他的錢買的，那人就可以吃聖物；生在他家的人也可以吃。
22:12 祭司的女兒若嫁外人，就不可吃舉祭的聖物。
22:13 但祭司的女兒若是寡婦，或是被休的，沒有孩子，又歸回父家，與她青年一樣，就可以吃她父親的食物；只是外人不可吃。
22:14 若有人誤吃了聖物，要照聖物的原數加上五分之一交給祭司。
22:15 祭司不可褻瀆以色列人所獻給耶和華的聖物，

10 “‘No
one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of
a priest or his hired worker eat it. 11 But if a priest buys a
slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his
food. 12 If a priest’s daughter marries anyone other than a
priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions. 13 But
if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and
she returns to live in her father’s household as in her youth, she may eat her
father’s food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.
14 “‘Anyone
who eats a sacred offering by mistake must make restitution to the priest for
the offering and add a fifth of the value to it. 15 The priests
must not desecrate the sacred offerings the Israelites present to the Lord 16 by allowing them
to eat the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt requiring payment. I
am the Lord, who makes them
holy.’”

上帝使利未人成為聖潔，也因為這樣他們和他們的家人，才有資格吃聖物！正如今日要受洗歸入主的名下的人，才可以領受聖餐一樣。因為聖餐的餅和杯代表耶穌基督的身體和寶血，吃和喝的時候要紀念主耶穌的犧牲！而利未人吃獻祭的務時，要紀念自己是歸耶和華為聖！
基督徒是領受耶穌基督的身體和寶血，也是歸上帝為聖！主耶穌更應許說：「我實實在在地告訴你們，你們若不吃人子的肉，不喝人子的血，就沒有生命在你們裡面。吃我肉、喝我血的人就有永生，在末日我要叫他復活。」（約翰福音6:53-54）
利未人吃聖物只是維持肉體的生命，然而我們吃耶穌基督的肉和血確有永生！我們是不是比利未人更有福份嗎？因為我們不只復活，更要與基督同坐王呢！這是利未人沒有享受到的。
