歷代志下20:1-4

 

20:1 此後，摩押人和亞捫人，又有米烏尼人，一同來攻擊約沙法。
20:2 有人來報告約沙法說：「從海外亞蘭（又作以東）那邊有大軍來攻擊你，如今他們在哈洗遜‧他瑪，就是隱‧基底。」
20:3 約沙法便懼怕，定意尋求耶和華，在猶大全地宣告禁食。
20:4 於是猶大人聚會，求耶和華幫助。猶大各城都有人出來尋求耶和華。

 

After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat.

² Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi). ³ Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. ⁴ The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.

    約沙法是一位倚靠上帝的王，尤其是有外敵入侵的時候，約沙法的行動就是：「定意尋求耶和華，在猶大全地宣告禁食」！

    然而他的百姓也因為有這樣的王，就配合王的行動：「於是猶大人聚會，求耶和華幫助。猶大各城都有人出來尋求耶和華」。

    由於上下同心，就集合成一股力量，並且有上帝的同在，他們就成為堅強的隊伍，勇敢抵禦外侮。

    教會也是如此，大家要在基督裡同心面對仇敵的攻擊，要相信最後的勝利是屬乎上帝和祂的子民。

 

歷代志上17:20

  

耶和華啊，照我們耳中聽見，沒有可比你的，除你以外再無上帝。

There is no one like you, Lord, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.

    通過大衛這樣的宣告，讓我們感受到認識上帝不是靠人的想像或是用比擬或類比法來認識上帝。因為這樣所認識的上帝並非真的上帝，有可能是一個偶像而已。

    人要認識上帝只能透過上帝自己的啟示，而上帝的啟示在哪裡呢？就是在聖經裡。因為聖經是從上帝所默示的，為要教導人學義，遠離罪惡和死亡，接受基督的救恩，成為上帝兒女，享受永生的福樂！

    求主幫助我們，使我們能確確實實領受聖靈，透過聖靈使我們的生命被更新，可以將基督的榮美藉我們彰顯出來！

歷代志下33:10-13

 

 

33:10 耶和華警戒瑪拿西和他的百姓，他們卻是不聽。
33:11 所以耶和華使亞述王的將帥來攻擊他們，用鐃鉤鉤住瑪拿西，用銅鍊鎖住他，帶到巴比倫去。
33:12 他在急難的時候，就懇求耶和華─他的上帝，且在他列祖的上帝面前極其自卑。
33:13 他祈禱耶和華，耶和華就允准他的祈求，垂聽他的禱告，使他歸回耶路撒冷，仍坐國位。瑪拿西這才知道惟獨耶和華是上帝。

¹⁰ The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention. ¹¹ So the Lord brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon. ¹² In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. ¹³ And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

    瑪拿西雖然一開始不聽上帝的警戒，上帝就使亞述王來攻擊他，甚至還被抓到巴比倫。而故事在此也有變化，就是「他在急難的時候，就懇求耶和華─他的上帝，且在他列祖的上帝面前極其自卑。」

    而他自卑後悔改，就向上帝禱告，這一禱告情勢就改變：「耶和華就允准他的祈求，垂聽他的禱告，使他歸回耶路撒冷，仍坐國位。瑪拿西這才知道惟獨耶和華是上帝。」

    也因為這樣，讓我們在一次想到彼得後書3章9節：「主所應許的尚未成就，有人以為他是耽延，其實不是耽延，乃是寬容你們，不願有一人沉淪，乃願人人都悔改。」

    可見悔改是何等重要啊！

 

歷代志下34:18-21

 

34:18 書記沙番又對王說：「祭司希勒家遞給我一卷書。」沙番就在王面前讀那書。
34:19 王聽見律法上的話，就撕裂衣服，
34:20 吩咐希勒家與沙番的兒子亞希甘、米迦的兒子亞比頓、書記沙番，和王的臣僕亞撒雅說：
34:21 「你們去為我、為以色列和猶大剩下的人，以這書上的話求問耶和華；因我們列祖沒有遵守耶和華的言語，沒有照這書上所記的去行，耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。」

 ¹⁸ Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king.

¹⁹ When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes. ²⁰ He gave these orders to Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah,^[a] Shaphan the secretary and Asaiah the king’s attendant: ²¹ “Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the remnant in Israel and Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that is poured out on us because those who have gone before us have not kept the word of the Lord; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book.”

    約西亞王是一位對上帝的心意敏感的君王，當書記沙番閱讀律法書時，王聽見律法上的話，就撕裂衣服。這樣的反應是悔改的表現，因為感受到自己的祖先和國民都悖逆上帝，這是十分可怕的事！因為這樣會招惹上帝怒氣，下場是滅亡！

 

    也因此他向希勒家與沙番的兒子亞希甘、米迦的兒子亞比頓、書記沙番，和王的臣僕亞撒雅說：「你們去為我、為以色列和猶大剩下的人，以這書上的話求問耶和華；因我們列祖沒有遵守耶和華的言語，沒有照這書上所記的去行，耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。」

 

    同樣今日，我們也要以上帝的憤怒為我們的警戒。讓我們不要認為上帝是慈愛的，就任意妄為，常常犯罪！更要清楚上帝的怒氣是我們無法承受的，我們更是要靠主耶穌的贖罪來免除上帝的憤怒！透過耶穌基督成為挽回祭，使上帝的心得滿足而不憤怒！

 

歷代志下10:7-11

 10:7 老年人對他說：「王若恩待這民，使他們喜悅，用好話回覆他們，他們就永遠作王的僕人。」

10:8 王卻不用老年人給他出的主意，就和那些與他一同長大、在他面前侍立的少年人商議，

10:9 說：「這民對我說：『你父親使我們負重軛，求你使我們輕鬆些』；你們給我出個甚麼主意，我好回覆他們。」

10:10 那同他長大的少年人說：「這民對王說：『你父親使我們負重軛，求你使我們輕鬆些』；王要對他們如此說：「我的小拇指比我父親的腰還粗；

10:11 我父親使你們負重軛，我必使你們負更重的軛；我父親用鞭子責打你們，我要用蠍子鞭責打你們。』」

⁷ They replied, “If you will be kind to these people and please them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your servants.”

⁸ But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him. ⁹ He asked them, “What is your advice? How should we answer these people who say to me, ‘Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”

¹⁰ The young men who had grown up with him replied, “The people have said to you, ‘Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but make our yoke lighter.’ Now tell them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist. ¹¹ My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.’”

    從這段記載中讓我們看見年長者的智慧與年輕人的無知，尤其是面對百姓的抱怨時，應該以得人心為重，而不是耍權威。因為國王是要靠大家支持，而不是自以為偉大！

    雖貴為一國之君，對待百姓更是要展開恩慈的心，不可以自以為是，認為自己高高在上，以凶暴對待人，只是讓人更遠離，而不是有順服與跟隨的心志。除非這個王肯放下自己，肯傾聽百姓的心聲。就像我們肯跟隨主耶穌，就是因為主耶穌肯為我們的罪死在十字架上，讓我們感受到祂的愛，以致願意跟隨。

    做領袖的人要得權柄，就是要肯犧牲自己並義恩慈和憐憫來對待自己所要領導的一群人！因為做領袖是要服事人，而不是被人服事！主耶穌也是這樣教導門徒的，我們更是要這樣來行。正如主耶穌說：「來跟從我，我要叫你們得人如得魚一樣。」(馬太福音4:19)
