那鴻書3:5-7

3:5 萬軍之耶和華說：我與你為敵；我必揭起你的衣襟，蒙在你臉上，使列國看見你的赤體，使列邦觀看你的醜陋。

3:6 我必將可憎污穢之物拋在你身上，辱沒你，為眾目所觀。

3:7 凡看見你的，都必逃跑離開你，說：尼尼微荒涼了！有誰為你悲傷呢？我何處尋得安慰你的人呢？

Behold, I am against you,

declares the Lord of hosts,

and will lift up your skirts over your face;

and I will make nations look at your nakedness

and kingdoms at your shame.

  I will throw filth at you

and treat you with contempt

and make you a spectacle.

  And all who look at you will shrink from you and say,

“Wasted is Nineveh; who will grieve for her?”

Where shall I seek comforters for you?

     先知在此說到尼尼微遭受到羞辱，卻沒有人安慰她！

那鴻書3:1-4

3:1 禍哉！這流人血的城，充滿謊詐和強暴─搶奪的事總不止息。

3:2 鞭聲響亮，車輪轟轟，馬匹踢跳，車輛奔騰，

3:3 馬兵爭先，刀劍發光，槍矛閃爍，被殺的甚多，屍首成了大堆，屍骸無數，人碰著而跌倒，

3:4 都因那美貌的妓女多有淫行，慣行邪術，藉淫行誘惑列國，用邪術誘惑（原文是賣）多族。

Woe to the bloody city,

all full of lies and plunder—

no end to the prey!

  The crack of the whip, and rumble of the wheel,

galloping horse and bounding chariot!

  Horsemen charging,

flashing sword and glittering spear,

hosts of slain,

heaps of corpses,

dead bodies without end—

they stumble over the bodies!

  And all for the countless whorings of the prostitute,

graceful and of deadly charms,

who betrays nations with her whorings,

and peoples with her charms.

     先知在此說到戰爭的慘烈狀況，就是要人想到尼尼微的悖逆上帝，才會有這樣的下場！

那鴻書2:10-13

2:10 尼尼微現在空虛荒涼，人心消化，雙膝相碰，腰都疼痛，臉都變色。

2:11 獅子的洞和少壯獅子餵養之處在哪裡呢？公獅母獅小獅遊行、無人驚嚇之地在哪裡呢？

2:12 公獅為小獅撕碎許多食物，為母獅掐死活物，把撕碎的、掐死的充滿牠的洞穴。

2:13 萬軍之耶和華說：「我與你為敵，必將你的車輛焚燒成煙，刀劍也必吞滅你的少壯獅子。我必從地上除滅你所撕碎的，你使者的聲音必不再聽見。」

Desolate! Desolation and ruin!

Hearts melt and knees tremble;

anguish is in all loins;

all faces grow pale!

  Where is the lions' den,

the feeding place of the young lions,

where the lion and lioness went,

where his cubs were, with none to disturb?

  The lion tore enough for his cubs

and strangled prey for his lionesses;

he filled his caves with prey

and his dens with torn flesh.

  Behold, I am against you, declares the Lord of hosts, and I will burn your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no longer be heard.

    上帝執意要尼尼微成滅亡，是因為他們與上帝為敵。正如先知在這裡說的話：「萬軍之耶和華說：『我與你為敵，必將你的車輛焚燒成煙，刀劍也必吞滅你的少壯獅子。我必從地上除滅你所撕碎的，你使者的聲音必不再聽見。』」

    因此，不管各樣的狀況，我們都不可以上帝為敵，要順服上帝，靠耶穌基督成為上帝喜悅之兒女。

那鴻書2:5-9

2:5 尼尼微王招聚他的貴冑；他們步行絆跌，速上城牆，預備擋牌。

2:6 河閘開放，宮殿沖沒。

2:7 王后蒙羞，被人擄去；宮女搥胸，哀鳴如鴿。此乃命定之事。

2:8 尼尼微自古以來充滿人民，如同聚水的池子；現在居民卻都逃跑。雖有人呼喊說：站住！站住！卻無人回顧。

2:9 你們搶掠金銀吧！因為所積蓄的無窮，華美的寶器無數。

He remembers his officers;

they stumble as they go,

they hasten to the wall;

the siege tower is set up.

  The river gates are opened;

the palace melts away;

  its mistress is stripped; she is carried off,

her slave girls lamenting,

moaning like doves

and beating their breasts.

  Nineveh is like a pool

whose waters run away.

“Halt! Halt!” they cry,

but none turns back.

  Plunder the silver,

plunder the gold!

There is no end of the treasure

or of the wealth of all precious things.

    這是描述將來尼尼微成被攻擊的狀態，尤其是王室的榮耀更是消失殆盡，大家為了搶奪財富，顧不得誰是王，誰是國王家中的人，更顧不到誰是大臣了！一切的尊貴人，都變得沒有意義了!

    因此倚靠上帝比甚麼都重要，要不是上帝的保守，人的身分與地位也算不了甚麼了！

那鴻書2:1-4

2:1 尼尼微啊，那打碎邦國的上來攻擊你。你要看守保障，謹防道路，使腰強壯，大大勉力。

2:2 （耶和華復興雅各的榮華，好像以色列的榮華一樣；因為使地空虛的，已經使雅各和以色列空虛，將他們的葡萄枝毀壞了。）

2:3 他勇士的盾牌是紅的，精兵都穿朱紅衣服。在他預備爭戰的日子，戰車上的鋼鐵閃爍如火，柏木把的槍也掄起來了。

2:4 車輛在街上（或譯：城外）急行，在寬闊處奔來奔去，形狀如火把，飛跑如閃電。

The scatterer has come up against you.

Man the ramparts;

watch the road;

dress for battle;

collect all your strength.

  For the Lord is restoring the majesty of Jacob

as the majesty of Israel,

for plunderers have plundered them

and ruined their branches.

  The shield of his mighty men is red;

his soldiers are clothed in scarlet.

The chariots come with flashing metal

on the day he musters them;

the cypress spears are brandished.

  The chariots race madly through the streets;

they rush to and fro through the squares;

they gleam like torches;

they dart like lightning.

    尼尼微城因為亞述的強大而感到榮耀，可使在自滿之中，上帝已經又興起另一個強權。也因為如此，強大的帝國並不能永遠存在，因為一切的興亡在上帝手中，不是在政權手中。雖然人都想藉由各樣的制度，來維持強大的政權。

    也因此，人必須謙卑敬畏上帝，並且依靠上帝，正如猶大國雖然不是強權，甚至後來滅國，卻一直在上帝的保護之下，甚至到耶穌基督的時代，都還是具有國家的樣式，雖然在異族的統治下生存。

      所以，上帝的保護勝過一切！
