耶利米書22: 1-9
22:1 耶和華如此說：「你下到猶大王的宮中，在那裡說這話，
22:2 說：『坐大衛寶座的猶大王啊，你和你的臣僕，並進入城門的百姓，都當聽耶和華的話。
22:3 耶和華如此說：你們要施行公平和公義，拯救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人的手，不可虧負寄居的和孤兒寡婦，不可以強暴待他們，在這地方也不可流無辜人的血。
22:4 你們若認真行這事，就必有坐大衛寶座的君王和他的臣僕百姓，或坐車或騎馬，從這城的各門進入。
22:5 你們若不聽這些話，耶和華說：我指著自己起誓，這城必變為荒場。』
22:6 耶和華論到猶大王的家如此說：我看你如基列，如黎巴嫩頂；然而，我必使你變為曠野，為無人居住的城邑。
22:7 我要預備行毀滅的人，各拿器械攻擊你；他們要砍下你佳美的香柏樹，扔在火中。
22:8 「許多國的民要經過這城，各人對鄰舍說：『耶和華為何向這大城如此行呢？』
22:9 他們必回答說：『是因離棄了耶和華─他們上帝的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」
Thus says the Lord: “Go down to the house of the king of Judah and
speak there this word, and say, Hear the
word of the Lord, O king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and
your servants, and your people who enter these gates. Thus says the Lord: Do justice and
righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been
robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and
the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. For if you will indeed obey this word, then
there shall enter the gates of this house kings who sit on the throne of David,
riding in chariots and on horses, they and their servants and their
people. But if you will not obey these
words, I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that this house shall become a
desolation. For thus says the Lord
concerning the house of the king of Judah:
“‘You are like Gilead to me,
like the summit of Lebanon,
yet surely I will make you a desert,
an uninhabited city.
I
will prepare destroyers against you,
each with his weapons,
and they shall cut down your choicest
cedars
and cast them into the fire.
“‘And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his
neighbor, “Why has the Lord dealt thus with this great city?” And they will answer, “Because they have
forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served
them.”’”

先知在這裡向猶大的君王說預言，而這樣的預言中讓我們看出耶和華信仰的精神，是在遵行上帝的話，尤其是執政掌權者，不要自以為有權柄，就忘記上帝的要求：「你們要施行公平和公義，拯救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人的手，不可虧負寄居的和孤兒寡婦，不可以強暴待他們，在這地方也不可流無辜人的血。」
同樣在今日，基督的教會中之領袖更是要如此，要讓上帝的公義施行在教會中，然後延伸到社會與國家。使上帝的旨意，可以實行在地上，就如上帝的國降臨一般。
也因此基督徒不只說上帝的保守，更是要實行上帝的旨意，除了聽到之外，更是要行道！也唯有行道，才可彰顯自己是上帝的兒女，使人藉由我們知道何為基督信仰！

耶利米書21: 11-14
21:11 「至於猶大王的家，你們當聽耶和華的話。
21:12 大衛家啊，耶和華如此說：你們每早晨要施行公平，拯救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人的手，恐怕我的忿怒因你們的惡行發作，如火著起，甚至無人能以熄滅。
21:13 耶和華說：住山谷和平原磐石上的居民，你們說：誰能下來攻擊我們？誰能進入我們的住處呢？看哪，我與你們為敵。
21:14 耶和華又說：我必按你們做事的結果刑罰你們；我也必使火在耶路撒冷的林中著起，將她四圍所有的盡行燒滅。」
“And to the house of the king of Judah
say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O house
of David! Thus says the Lord:
“‘Execute justice in the morning,
and deliver from the hand of the oppressor
him who has been robbed,
lest my wrath go forth like fire,
and burn with none to quench it,
because of your evil deeds.’”
“Behold,
I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley,
O rock of the plain,
declares the Lord;
you who say, Who shall come down against
us,
or who shall enter our habitations?’
I
will punish you according to the fruit of your deeds,
declares the Lord;
I will kindle a fire in her forest,
and it shall devour all that is around
her.”

上帝要先知耶利米警告猶大的君王，並且提醒上帝設立君王的目的是：「每早晨要施行公平，拯救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人的手」！也就是說，上帝要他們行公義與好憐憫！然而他們並沒有做到，反倒是用權勢欺壓人，所以遭惹耶和華的怒氣！
耶和華上帝更是警告他們，不要以維耶路撒冷城是易守難攻，就自以為安定，不受敵人的攻擊而敗亡。上帝的審判與憤怒必發生在城內，而不是城外來的敵軍。所以，不要自以為安全，要悔改歸向上帝，真正行公義、好憐憫，討上帝的喜悅，才不會敗亡！然而國王並沒有聽進去上帝的警告，以至於後來真的滅亡在巴比倫手中。
這也是今日教會的警戒，尤其是有權有勢的教會領袖們，不要濫用上帝給您們權勢，要用這權勢來服事教會，為弱勢的弟兄姊妹謀福利，而非圖謀自己的好處，滿足自己的私慾！要是不照上帝旨意而行，上帝必定拔除，不容惡者囂張！
耶利米書21: 8-10
21:8 「你要對這百姓說：『耶和華如此說：看哪，我將生命的路和死亡的路擺在你們面前。
21:9 住在這城裡的必遭刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死；但出去歸降圍困你們迦勒底人的必得存活，要以自己的命為掠物。
21:10 耶和華說：我向這城變臉，降禍不降福；這城必交在巴比倫王的手中，他必用火焚燒。』」
“And to this people you shall say: Thus
says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of
death. He who stays in this city shall
die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, but he who goes out and
surrenders to the Chaldeans who are besieging you shall live and shall have his
life as a prize of war. For I have set
my face against this city for harm and not for good, declares the Lord: it
shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with
fire.’

上帝要先知耶利米警告猶大百姓將要發生的事情。或許我們覺得，上帝的責任就是保護祂的子民，反倒怪起祂的子民呢？要賜禍給他們，使他們遭受刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死，沒有死的還要他們去投降，然後被抓到巴比倫去！
但是，上帝而言，祂已經吩咐祂的子民：「看哪，我將生命的路和死亡的路擺在你們面前」。今天有這樣的結局，是他們自己造成的，是自己先悖逆上帝，以致走到滅亡之路，是他們自己該承受與面對的！
親愛的弟兄姊妹，也因為這樣，我們需要有好的牧者來提醒我們、警戒我們，不要走迷的路！而上帝設立中保耶穌基督的目的也是如此，要我們透過耶穌基督尋找到生命之道，而不要走到滅亡之路！而每一位受上帝選召的牧者，正是要如耶穌基督一樣，來喚醒弟兄姊妹，走在生命之道！
