4:1 那與我說話的天使又來叫醒我，好像人睡覺被喚醒一樣。
4:2 他問我說：「你看見了甚麼？」我說：「我看見了一個純金的燈臺，頂上有盞燈，燈臺上有七盞燈，每盞有七個管子。
4:3 旁邊有兩棵橄欖樹，一棵在燈盞的右邊，一棵在燈盞的左邊。」
4:4 我問與我說話的天使說：「主啊，這是甚麼意思？」
4:5 與我說話的天使回答我說：「你不知道這是甚麼意思麼？」我說：「主啊，我不知道。」
4:6 他對我說：「這是耶和華指示所羅巴伯的。萬軍之耶和華說：不是倚靠勢力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的靈方能成事。
4:7 大山哪，你算甚麼呢？在所羅巴伯面前，你必成為平地。他必搬出一塊石頭，安在殿頂上。人且大聲歡呼說：『願恩惠恩惠歸與這殿（殿：或譯石）！』」
And the angel who talked with me came again
and woke me, like a man who is awakened out of his sleep. And he said to me,
"What do you see?" I said, "I see, and behold, a lampstand all
of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and seven lamps on it, with seven lips
on each of the lamps that are on the top of it. And there are two olive trees
by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left." And I said
to the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my lord?" Then the
angel who talked with me answered and said to me, "Do you not know what
these are?" I said, "No, my lord." Then he said to me,
"This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power,
but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before
Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward the top stone
amid shouts of 'Grace, grace to it! '"

約書亞是祭司，而所羅巴伯是政治領袖，這兩位都是帶領猶大被擄歸回的人。上帝賦於他們大任，要重建耶路撒冷，恢復上帝在以色列人中間掌權，成為上帝的代表。
而成為上帝的代表，不是靠自己的才能和力量，也不能自立權柄。一切要倚靠上帝，甚至權柄與能力都要來自上帝。所以，上帝的使者說：「不是倚靠勢力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的靈方能成事。」
也因為有上帝的同在與賜能力，所以「大山哪，你算甚麼呢？在所羅巴伯面前，你必成為平地。」
所以，透過耶穌基督倚靠上帝的大能，我們才能完成上帝的託付！
