27:1 耶和華的話又臨到我說：
27:2 「人子啊，要為泰爾作起哀歌，
27:3 說：你居住海口，是眾民的商埠；你的交易通到許多的海島。主耶和華如此說：泰爾啊，你曾說：我是全然美麗的。
27:4 你的境界在海中，造你的使你全然美麗。
27:5 他們用示尼珥的松樹做你的一切板，用黎巴嫩的香柏樹做桅杆，
27:6 用巴珊的橡樹做你的槳，用象牙鑲嵌基提海島的黃楊木為坐板（或譯：艙板）。
27:7 你的篷帆是用埃及繡花細麻布做的，可以做你的大旗；你的涼棚是用以利沙島的藍色、紫色布做的。
27:8 西頓和亞發的居民作你盪槳的。泰爾啊，你中間的智慧人作掌舵的。
27:9 迦巴勒的老者和聰明人都在你中間作補縫的；一切泛海的船隻和水手都在你中間經營交易的事。
27:10 「波斯人、路德人、弗人在你軍營中作戰士；他們在你中間懸掛盾牌和頭盔，彰顯你的尊榮。
27:11 亞發人和你的軍隊都在你四圍的牆上，你的望樓也有勇士；他們懸掛盾牌，成全你的美麗。
The word of the Lord came to me: “Now you, son of man, raise a lamentation
over Tyre, and say to Tyre, who dwells
at the entrances to the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, thus
says the Lord God:
“O Tyre, you have said,
‘I am perfect in beauty.’
Your borders are in the heart of the seas;
your builders made perfect your beauty.
They made all your planks
of fir trees from Senir;
they took a cedar from Lebanon
to make a mast for you.
Of
oaks of Bashan
they made your oars;
they made your deck of pines
from the coasts of Cyprus,
inlaid with ivory.
Of
fine embroidered linen from Egypt
was your sail,
serving as your banner;
blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah
was your awning.
The
inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad
were your rowers;
your skilled men, O Tyre, were in you;
they were your pilots.
The
elders of Gebal and her skilled men were in you,
caulking your seams;
all the ships of the sea with their
mariners were in you
to barter for your wares.
“Persia
and Lud and Put were in your army as your men of war. They hung the shield and
helmet in you; they gave you splendor.
Men of Arvad and Helech were on your walls all around, and men of Gamad
were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they
made perfect your beauty.

泰爾是一個繁華的商港，擁有各國的美好產物，集世界一切的美好於此！甚至於曾稱讚自己說：我是全然美麗的。而上帝已稱它為美麗的，如先知所說：「你的境界在海中，造你的使你全然美麗」。但是，上帝卻對先知說：「人子啊，要為泰爾作起哀歌！」
這不禁讓我們想到人的軟弱，因為人在怎麼厲害與偉大，總有衰亡的一天，不管是那個組織或那個國家，都無法存到永遠，尤其是它最昌盛的時候，就是走向滅亡的開始！泰爾也難逃這命運，所以上帝對先知說：「人子啊，要為泰爾作起哀歌！」
而聖經在約翰一書2章17節說到：「這世界和其上的情慾都要過去，惟獨遵行上帝旨意的，是永遠常存」。而遵行上帝的旨意就是透過耶穌基督，與上帝建立正確和合一的關係，這樣就是永生了！
