25:8 所以萬軍之耶和華如此說：「因為你們沒有聽從我的話，
25:9 我必召北方的眾族和我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻擊這地和這地的居民，並四圍一切的國民。我要將他們盡行滅絕，以致他們令人驚駭、嗤笑，並且永久荒涼。這是耶和華說的。
25:10 我又要使歡喜和快樂的聲音，新郎和新婦的聲音，推磨的聲音和燈的亮光，從他們中間止息。
25:11 這全地必然荒涼，令人驚駭。這些國民要服事巴比倫王七十年。
25:12 七十年滿了以後，我必刑罰巴比倫王和那國民，並迦勒底人之地，因他們的罪孽使那地永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。
25:13 我也必使我向那地所說的話，就是記在這書上的話，是耶利米向這些國民說的預言，都臨到那地。
25:14 因為有多國和大君王必使迦勒底人作奴僕；我也必照他們的行為，按他們手所做的報應他們。」
“Therefore thus
says the Lord of hosts: Because you have not obeyed my words, behold, I will send for all the tribes of the
north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my
servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and
against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, and
make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation. Moreover, I will banish from them the voice
of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice
of the bride, the grinding of the millstones and the light of the lamp. This whole land shall become a ruin and a waste,
and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Then after seventy years are completed, I
will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for
their iniquity, declares the Lord, making the land an everlasting waste. I will bring upon that land all the words
that I have uttered against it, everything written in this book, which Jeremiah
prophesied against all the nations. For
many nations and great kings shall make slaves even of them, and I will
recompense them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”

耶利米在此宣告「被擄七十年歸回」的信息。而先知之所以能夠有這樣的信息，不是來自猜測或是想像，是來自上帝的啟示，這是上帝給先知的恩賜，不是靠人的努力觀察或分析。
當然，也因為如此人領受了上帝所給的恩賜之後，應該要存敬畏的心，來倚靠上帝，不要以為有了上帝所給的恩賜就好像很崇高、很厲害，反倒要震驚懼怕。正如許多與上帝相遇的人，他們看清自己的本質之後，他們會感受到不配的人，竟然可以領受上帝這樣的恩典，這是多麼難以想像的事啊！
所以，我們的生命若與上帝相遇，是多麼奇妙和偉大的事！但是，上帝就是樂意讓我們透過耶穌基督與他有相遇和相交的生命，好讓我們的生命可以來榮耀上帝的名，使祂的心意得滿足！這就是上帝的旨意！
