4:24 這都是比方:那兩個婦人就是兩約。一約是出於西奈山,生子為奴,乃是夏甲。
4:25 這夏甲二字是指著阿拉伯的西奈山,與現在的耶路撒冷同類,因耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。
4:26 但那在上的耶路撒冷是自主的,她是我們的母。
4:27 因為經上記著:不懷孕、不生養的,你要歡樂;未曾經過產難的,你要高聲歡呼;因為沒有丈夫的,比有丈夫的兒女更多。
4:28 弟兄們,我們是憑著應許作兒女,如同以撒一樣。
All of this has another meaning as well.
Each of the two women stands for one of the agreements God made with his
people. Hagar, the slave woman, stands for the agreement that was made at Mount
Sinai. Everyone born into her family is a slave. Hagar also stands for Mount
Sinai in Arabia[b] and for the present city of Jerusalem. She and her children
are slaves.
But our mother is the city of Jerusalem in
heaven above, and she isn’t a slave. The Scriptures say about her,
“You have never had children,
but now you can be glad.
You have never given birth,
but now you can shout.
Once you had no children,
but now you will have
more children
than a woman
who has been married
for a long time.”
My friends, you were born because of this
promise, just as Isaac was.

fài-thôi, mò kiung-chṳ́ ke pû-ngiòng-ngìn â,
ngì
oi fôn-hí!
Màng-sṳt
kîn-li̍t sên-sán ke thung-khú ke,
ngì
oi thai-sâng fôn-fû!
Yîn-vi
su lâng-lo̍k ke pû-ngiòng-ngìn
pí
ke thùng ló-kûng khiung-ha sên-fa̍t ke,
voi
yû kha-tô ke chṳ́-ńg!
Hiûng-thi
chí-moi â, chhiong Yî-sat khiung-yong, ngì-têu he tui Song-ti ke yin-hí
lòi sàng-cho Song-ti ke chṳ́-ńg.

保羅在此用拉比的解經方式來反擊猶太人,尤其是自稱基督徒的猶太人,讓他們認識到:在基督裡靠上帝恩典的人,就如同以撒一樣是應許之子,是由自主婦人所生的。
也因為如此,不要再回去當使女的小孩。因為使女的小孩的身分是奴隸!
想一想都是上帝的兒女了,是自由的身分了,為甚麼還要放棄這樣尊貴的身分呢?這是不合理的事啊!我們為何要受那些假教師的欺騙呢?
現今這個世代仍然充斥著一些假教師,用計各種辦法欺騙人,聽其教訓,受其挾制,讓人甘心為他賣命,以為是在服事上帝!
快快醒悟吧!信靠耶穌基督的人是上帝的兒女,是應許之子,要享受上帝所賜的自由與豐盛,還要做律法主義的奴隸嗎?
