2:1 但你所講的總要合乎那純正的道理。
2:2 勸老年人要有節制、端莊、自守，在信心、愛心、忍耐上都要純全無疵。
2:3 又勸老年婦人，舉止行動要恭敬，不說讒言，不給酒作奴僕，用善道教訓人，
2:4 好指教少年婦人，愛丈夫，愛兒女，
2:5 謹守，貞潔，料理家務，待人有恩，順服自己的丈夫，免得上帝的道理被毀謗。
2:6 又勸少年人要謹守。
2:7 你自己凡事要顯出善行的榜樣；在教訓上要正直、端莊，
2:8 言語純全，無可指責，叫那反對的人，既無處可說我們的不是，便自覺羞愧。
2:9 勸僕人要順服自己的主人，凡事討他的喜歡，不可頂撞他，
2:10 不可私拿東西，要顯為忠誠，以致凡事尊榮我們救主─上帝的道。
You, however, must teach what is appropriate to
sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of
respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live,
not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they
can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and
pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so
that no one will malign the word of God.
6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In
everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show
integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned,
so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to
say about us.
9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to
please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them,
but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make
the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

保羅教導提多怎樣成為教導者，不管面對男女老少，都要用「純正的道理」來教導。不僅如此，更要「要顯出善行的榜樣；在教訓上要正直、端莊，言語純全，無可指責，叫那反對的人，既無處可說我們的不是，便自覺羞愧。」
的確，上帝的僕人要表現出崇高的道德生活標準，不是為自己的好處，是為榮耀上帝的名。因為我們在這個世界生活行事，就是「凡事尊榮我們救主─上帝的道」！
今天我們既然有幸成為上帝所拯救的人，就是上帝的兒女，要讓人從我們身上看見父的榮光！正如主耶穌來到這個世界，約翰福音1章14節：「道成了肉身，住在我們中間，充充滿滿地有恩典有真理。我們也見過他的榮光，正是父獨生子的榮光。」1章18節：「從來沒有人看見上帝，只有在父懷裡的獨生子將他表明出來。」
