3:1 「以後，我們轉回，向巴珊去。巴珊王噩和他的眾民都出來，在以得來與我們交戰。
3:2 耶和華對我說：『不要怕他！因我已將他和他的眾民，並他的地，都交在你手中；你要待他像從前待住希實本的亞摩利王西宏一樣。』
3:3 於是耶和華─我們的上帝也將巴珊王噩和他的眾民都交在我們手中；我們殺了他們，沒有留下一個。
3:4 那時，我們奪了他所有的城，共有六十座，沒有一座城不被我們所奪。這為亞珥歌伯的全境，就是巴珊地噩王的國。
3:5 這些城都有堅固的高牆，有門有閂。此外還有許多無城牆的鄉村。
3:6 我們將這些都毀滅了，像從前待希實本王西宏一樣，把有人煙的各城，連女人帶孩子，盡都毀滅；
3:7 惟有一切牲畜和城中的財物都取為自己的掠物。
3:8 那時，我們從約旦河東兩個亞摩利王的手將亞嫩谷直到黑門山之地奪過來
3:9 （這黑門山，西頓人稱為西連，亞摩利人稱為示尼珥），
3:10 就是奪了平原的各城、基列全地、巴珊全地，直到撒迦和以得來，都是巴珊王噩國內的城邑。
3:11 （利乏音人所剩下的只有巴珊王噩。他的床是鐵的，長九肘，寬四肘，都是以人肘為度。現今豈不是在亞捫人的拉巴嗎？）」
3:12 「那時，我們得了這地。從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥起，我將基列山地的一半，並其中的城邑，都給了流便人和迦得人。
3:13 其餘的基列地和巴珊全地，就是噩王的國，我給了瑪拿西半支派。亞珥歌伯全地乃是巴珊全地；這叫做利乏音人之地。
3:14 瑪拿西的子孫睚珥佔了亞珥歌伯全境，直到基述人和瑪迦人的交界，就按自己的名稱這巴珊地為哈倭特‧睚珥，直到今日。
3:15 我又將基列給了瑪吉。
3:16 從基列到亞嫩谷，以谷中為界，直到亞捫人交界的雅博河，我給了流便人和迦得人，
3:17 又將亞拉巴和靠近約旦河之地，從基尼烈直到亞拉巴海，就是鹽海，並毘斯迦山根東邊之地，都給了他們。
3:18 「那時，我吩咐你們說：『耶和華─你們的上帝已將這地賜給你們為業；你們所有的勇士都要帶著兵器，在你們的弟兄以色列人前面過去。
3:19 但你們的妻子、孩子、牲畜（我知道你們有許多的牲畜）可以住在我所賜給你們的各城裡。
3:20 等到你們弟兄在約旦河那邊，也得耶和華─你們上帝所賜給他們的地，又使他們得享平安，與你們一樣，你們才可以回到我所賜給你們為業之地。』
3:21 那時我吩咐約書亞說：『你親眼看見了耶和華─你上帝向這二王所行的；耶和華也必向你所要去的各國照樣行。
3:22 你不要怕他們，因那為你爭戰的是耶和華─你的上帝。』」
3:23 「那時，我懇求耶和華說：
3:24 『主耶和華啊，你已將你的大力大能顯給僕人看。在天上，在地下，有甚麼上帝能像你行事、像你有大能的作為呢？
3:25 求你容我過去，看約旦河那邊的美地，就是那佳美的山地和黎巴嫩。』
3:26 但耶和華因你們的緣故向我發怒，不應允我，對我說：『罷了！你不要向我再提這事。
3:27 你且上毘斯迦山頂去，向東、西、南、北舉目觀望，因為你必不能過這約旦河。
3:28 你卻要囑咐約書亞，勉勵他，使他膽壯；因為他必在這百姓前面過去，使他們承受你所要觀看之地。』
3:29 於是我們住在伯‧毘珥對面的谷中。」

Next
we turned and went up along the road toward Bashan, and Og king of Bashan with
his whole army marched out to meet us in battle at Edrei. 2 The
Lord said to me, “Do not be afraid
of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and
his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in
Heshbon.”
3 So
the Lord our God also gave into
our hands Og king of Bashan and all his army. We struck them down, leaving no
survivors. 4 At that time we took all his cities. There was not
one of the sixty cities that we did not take from them—the whole region of
Argob, Og’s kingdom in Bashan. 5 All these cities were
fortified with high walls and with gates and bars, and there were also a great
many unwalled villages. 6 We completely destroyed[a] them, as we
had done with Sihon king of Heshbon, destroying[b] every
city—men, women and children. 7 But all the livestock and the
plunder from their cities we carried off for ourselves.
8 So
at that time we took from these two kings of the Amorites the territory east of
the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge as far as Mount Hermon. 9 (Hermon
is called Sirion by the Sidonians; the Amorites call it Senir.) 10 We
took all the towns on the plateau, and all Gilead, and all Bashan as far as
Salekah and Edrei, towns of Og’s kingdom in Bashan. 11 (Og king
of Bashan was the last of the Rephaites. His bed was decorated with iron and
was more than nine cubits long and four cubits wide.[c] It is still
in Rabbah of the Ammonites.)
12 Of
the land that we took over at that time, I gave the Reubenites and the Gadites
the territory north of Aroer by the Arnon Gorge, including half the hill
country of Gilead, together with its towns. 13 The rest of
Gilead and also all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of
Manasseh. (The whole region of Argob in Bashan used to be known as a land of
the Rephaites. 14 Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the
whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the
Maakathites; it was named after him, so that to this day Bashan is called
Havvoth Jair.[d]) 15 And
I gave Gilead to Makir. 16 But to the Reubenites and the
Gadites I gave the territory extending from Gilead down to the Arnon Gorge (the
middle of the gorge being the border) and out to the Jabbok River, which is the
border of the Ammonites. 17 Its western border was the Jordan
in the Arabah, from Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea),
below the slopes of Pisgah.
18 I
commanded you at that time: “The Lord
your God has given you this land to take possession of it. But all your
able-bodied men, armed for battle, must cross over ahead of the other
Israelites. 19 However, your wives, your children and your
livestock (I know you have much livestock) may stay in the towns I have given
you, 20 until the Lord
gives rest to your fellow Israelites as he has to you, and they too have taken
over the land that the Lord your
God is giving them across the Jordan. After that, each of you may go back to
the possession I have given you.”
21 At
that time I commanded Joshua: “You have seen with your own eyes all that the Lord your God has done to these two
kings. The Lord will do the same
to all the kingdoms over there where you are going. 22 Do not
be afraid of them; the Lord your
God himself will fight for you.”
23 At
that time I pleaded with the Lord:
24 “Sovereign Lord,
you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For
what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works
you do? 25 Let me go over and see the good land beyond the
Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon.”
26 But
because of you the Lord was angry
with me and would not listen to me. “That is enough,” the Lord said. “Do not speak to me anymore
about this matter. 27 Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west
and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you
are not going to cross this Jordan. 28 But commission Joshua,
and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will
cause them to inherit the land that you will see.” 29 So we
stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.

這一章分三小段，但是我們還是用整章的視野來看，因為這裡說到上帝怎樣讓他們得勝過巴珊王噩和他的眾民，就是因為上帝的同在。但是，這裡雖然有些城池，卻不完全是上帝要給他們的應許之地，他們尚未進入迦南地，也就是上帝應許給亞伯拉罕之地。而在這裡讓我們看見，土地是上帝給的，不是靠武力占領的！
然而上帝卻不讓摩西進入迦南美地，只能讓他登上毘斯迦山頂去向東、西、南、北舉目觀望！因為上帝要讓摩西知道人是有限的，即使是上帝所喜悅的人，也不是向上帝要求甚麼就有什麼，若是上帝沒有應許，求再多也沒有用！求主幫助我們也學習這樣順服的功課，不要求我們不應該求的！
但是上帝並沒有讓摩西因此失去使命與希望，上帝命令他：「要囑咐約書亞，勉勵他，使他膽壯；因為他必在這百姓前面過去，使他們承受你所要觀看之地。」
更奇妙的是，摩西似乎安定下來，接受上帝的命令，以「於是我們住在伯‧毘珥對面的谷中」作結束，不為不能進迦南地感到遺憾和抱怨上帝！這也是我們必須學習的功課，就是安息在主的命令之中！
