2:24 你們起來前往，過亞嫩谷；我已將亞摩利人希實本王西宏和他的地交在你手中，你要與他爭戰，得他的地為業。
2:25 從今日起，我要使天下萬民聽見你的名聲都驚恐懼怕，且因你發顫傷慟。」
2:26 「我從基底莫的曠野差遣使者去見希實本王西宏，用和睦的話說：
2:27 『求你容我從你的地經過，只走大道，不偏左右。
2:28 你可以賣糧給我吃，也可以賣水給我喝，只要容我步行過去，
2:29 就如住西珥的以掃子孫和住亞珥的摩押人待我一樣，等我過了約旦河，好進入耶和華─我們上帝所賜給我們的地。』
2:30 但希實本王西宏不容我們從他那裡經過；因為耶和華─你的上帝使他心中剛硬，性情頑梗，為要將他交在你手中，像今日一樣。
2:31 耶和華對我說：『從此起首，我要將西宏和他的地交給你；你要得他的地為業。』
2:32 那時，西宏和他的眾民出來攻擊我們，在雅雜與我們交戰。
2:33 耶和華─我們的上帝將他交給我們，我們就把他和他的兒子，並他的眾民，都擊殺了。
2:34 我們奪了他的一切城邑，將有人煙的各城，連女人帶孩子，盡都毀滅，沒有留下一個。
2:35 惟有牲畜和所奪的各城，並其中的財物，都取為自己的掠物。
2:36 從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥和谷中的城，直到基列，耶和華─我們的上帝都交給我們了，沒有一座城高得使我們不能攻取的。
2:37 惟有亞捫人之地，凡靠近雅博河的地，並山地的城邑，與耶和華─我們上帝所禁止我們去的地方，都沒有挨近。」

24 “Set
out now and cross the Arnon Gorge. See, I have given into your hand Sihon the
Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his country. Begin to take possession of it and
engage him in battle. 25 This very day I will begin to put the
terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports
of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”
26 From
the Desert of Kedemoth I sent messengers to Sihon king of Heshbon offering peace
and saying, 27 “Let us pass through your country. We will stay
on the main road; we will not turn aside to the right or to the left. 28 Sell
us food to eat and water to drink for their price in silver. Only let us pass
through on foot— 29 as the descendants of Esau, who live in
Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us—until we cross the Jordan
into the land the Lord our God is
giving us.” 30 But Sihon king of Heshbon refused to let us pass
through. For the Lord your God had
made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to give him into your
hands, as he has now done.
31 The Lord said to me, “See, I have begun to
deliver Sihon and his country over to you. Now begin to conquer and possess his
land.”
32 When
Sihon and all his army came out to meet us in battle at Jahaz, 33 the
Lord our God delivered him over to
us and we struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army. 34 At
that time we took all his towns and completely destroyed[c] them—men,
women and children. We left no survivors. 35 But the livestock
and the plunder from the towns we had captured we carried off for ourselves. 36 From
Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as
far as Gilead, not one town was too strong for us. The Lord our God gave us all of them. 37 But in
accordance with the command of the Lord
our God, you did not encroach on any of the land of the Ammonites, neither the
land along the course of the Jabbok nor that around the towns in the hills.

上帝讓以色列的大軍將亞摩利人希實本王西宏的百姓都殺盡，連婦人和小孩也不留，佔領全部城池！因為這樣的大獲全勝，讓迦南地的許多民族和國家聽見這事之後都喪膽害怕！甚至影響到約書亞帶領以色列進入迦南地，使得以色列可以順利地得迦南地為業。
其實我們的生命中大大小小的事都是上帝在安排與保守，祂必讓我們在各樣的事上靠祂得力！因為我們蒙恩成為上帝的兒女，上帝必一路保守我們直到主耶穌再來的時候，讓我們可以一同進入上帝的國，享受永生無限！
也因為如此，我們才能有真平安，才能安穩在主的手中，不管環境如何變化，我們都肯定上帝必要保守，因為祂絕對不會離棄我們，祂既然付出重大的代價，救恩必定完成且完全在我們身上！
