箴言21:14

暗中送的禮物挽回怒氣；懷中搋的賄賂止息暴怒。

A gift given in secret soothes anger,
    and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.

    人性都有貪小便宜的缺點，只要有一點小小的恩惠，就忘記自己的原則與立場，做出違背自己和公義的事情。這對於教會治理的人，更是一個提醒，我們要避免接受賄賂之後就失去信仰的原則和立場。

    但是就另一方面說，我們想得到傳福音的機會，又需要施點小惠，讓人可以放下心防來接觸福音，這樣的作為又不能不使用！因為我們的動機不是要害人，是要幫助人來親近上帝，讓人感受上帝的恩惠。而上帝對人也是如此，祂施恩惠給人，使人感受祂的愛而來信靠祂。

    總之，我們送禮要送對心意，不是要來買通人心做壞事；而是要諄諄善誘，使人來親近主而聽從福音，接受耶穌基督為救主，這是主喜悅的事！

提摩太後書2:20-26

2:20 在大戶人家，不但有金器銀器，也有木器瓦器；有作為貴重的，有作為卑賤的。
2:21 人若自潔，脫離卑賤的事，就必作貴重的器皿，成為聖潔，合乎主用，預備行各樣的善事。
2:22 你要逃避少年的私慾，同那清心禱告主的人追求公義、信德、仁愛、和平。
2:23 惟有那愚拙無學問的辯論，總要棄絕，因為知道這等事是起爭競的。
2:24 然而主的僕人不可爭競，只要溫溫和和地待眾人，善於教導，存心忍耐，
2:25 用溫柔勸戒那抵擋的人；或者上帝給他們悔改的心，可以明白真道，
2:26 叫他們這已經被魔鬼任意擄去的，可以醒悟，脫離他的網羅。

²⁰ In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. ²¹ Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
²² Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. ²³ Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. ²⁴ And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. ²⁵ Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, ²⁶ and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

    保羅要提摩太看重自己是上帝所拯救的人，要想到自己是蒙揀選做貴重的器皿，就要活出與自己所蒙的恩相稱的生命。所以，「你要逃避少年的私慾，同那清心禱告主的人追求公義、信德、仁愛、和平。」

    他也提醒提摩太要避免事情：「惟有那愚拙無學問的辯論，總要棄絕，因為知道這等事是起爭競的。然而主的僕人不可爭競，只要溫溫和和地待眾人，善於教導，存心忍耐，用溫柔勸戒那抵擋的人；或者上帝給他們悔改的心，可以明白真道，叫他們這已經被魔鬼任意擄去的，可以醒悟，脫離他的網羅。」

     這等事在今日更是要防範，尤其是今日許多好辯論者來FB或BLOG提出一些奇奇怪怪的問題，要小心的回答，不要起爭論！對於好爭論的人，最好起他離開或不要理他，以免落入不必要的爭論！

提摩太後書2:8-14

2:8 你要記念耶穌基督乃是大衛的後裔，他從死裡復活，正合乎我所傳的福音。
2:9 我為這福音受苦難，甚至被捆綁，像犯人一樣。然而上帝的道卻不被捆綁。
2:10 所以，我為選民凡事忍耐，叫他們也可以得著那在基督耶穌裡的救恩和永遠的榮耀。
2:11 有可信的話說：我們若與基督同死，也必與他同活；
2:12 我們若能忍耐，也必和他一同作王。我們若不認他，他也必不認我們；
2:13 我們縱然失信，他仍是可信的，因為他不能背乎自己。
2:14 你要使眾人回想這些事，在主面前囑咐他們：不可為言語爭辯；這是沒有益處的，只能敗壞聽見的人。

⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, ⁹ for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. ¹⁰ Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹¹ Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him,
    we will also live with him;
¹² if we endure,
    we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
    he will also disown us;
¹³ if we are faithless,
    he remains faithful,
    for he cannot disown himself.

¹⁴ Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

    保羅教導提摩太福音的內容，當然福音就是指耶穌基督的拯救。所以要說到耶穌基督是大衛的子孫，更是上帝的兒子。不僅說到基督的身分，更是要說到基督的作為，為我們的罪死在十字架上，三天後復活，升天到上帝的右邊，將來還要降臨，帶領我們進入祂的國度中，與基督一同做王！

    這就像我們在教會中有《使徒信經》、《尼西亞信經》、…，等信經。讓我們透過簡短的宣告，認識信仰的內容，方便我們傳福音和與弟兄姐妹分享信樣上的看見，使大家有相同的立場和信念。

    當然有共同的信念與立場，就不會有言語的爭辯了，可倚靠基督有合一的心，位主做美好見證！

提摩太後書2:1-7

2:1 我兒啊，你要在基督耶穌的恩典上剛強起來。
2:2 你在許多見證人面前聽見我所教訓的，也要交託那忠心能教導別人的人。
2:3 你要和我同受苦難，好像基督耶穌的精兵。
2:4 凡在軍中當兵的，不將世務纏身，好叫那招他當兵的人喜悅。
2:5 人若在場上比武，非按規矩，就不能得冠冕。
2:6 勞力的農夫理當先得糧食。
2:7 我所說的話，你要思想，因為凡事主必給你聰明。

 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. ³ Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. ⁵ Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. ⁶ The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. ⁷ Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

    保羅教導提摩太要在基督的恩典上剛強起來，使自己成為基督的精兵，專心在基督所託付的事情，也就是教會的建立，如同保羅所做的事情一般。因為，上帝透過保羅將福音傳到外邦人中間。而提摩太雖是外邦人，卻有猶太人血統，更是可以承繼保羅的事工。

    今日，我們有幸成為耶穌基督的門徒，也就是基督的精兵，我們也當謹記保羅的教導：「你要和我同受苦難，好像基督耶穌的精兵。凡在軍中當兵的，不將世務纏身，好叫那招他當兵的人喜悅。人若在場上比武，非按規矩，就不能得冠冕。」

    讓我們專心來跟隨基督，以基督的事為我們的第一要務！而基督的事，就是使萬民都成為基督的門徒！我們不光是「去」，更重要是「做門徒」，使自己成為基督的門徒，才能帶領人成為門徒！
