23:23 耶和華說：「我豈為近處的上帝呢？不也為遠處的上帝嗎？」
23:24 耶和華說：「人豈能在隱密處藏身，使我看不見他呢？」耶和華說：「我豈不充滿天地嗎？
23:25 我已聽見那些先知所說的，就是託我名說的假預言，他們說：『我做了夢！我做了夢！』
23:26 說假預言的先知，就是預言本心詭詐的先知，他們這樣存心要到幾時呢？
23:27 他們各人將所做的夢對鄰舍述說，想要使我的百姓忘記我的名，正如他們列祖因巴力忘記我的名一樣。
23:28 得夢的先知可以述說那夢；得我話的人可以誠實講說我的話。糠秕怎能與麥子比較呢？這是耶和華說的。」
23:29 耶和華說：「我的話豈不像火，又像能打碎磐石的大錘嗎？」
23:30 耶和華說：「那些先知各從鄰舍偷竊我的言語，因此我必與他們反對。」
23:31 耶和華說：「那些先知用舌頭，說是耶和華說的；我必與他們反對。」
23:32 耶和華說：「那些以幻夢為預言，又述說這夢，以謊言和矜誇使我百姓走錯了路的，我必與他們反對。我沒有打發他們，也沒有吩咐他們。他們與這百姓毫無益處。這是耶和華說的。」
“Am I a God at
hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so
that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth?
declares the Lord. I have heard what the
prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have
dreamed!’ How long shall there be lies
in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of
their own heart, who think to make my
people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their
fathers forgot my name for Baal? Let the
prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my
word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord,
and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets,
declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another. Behold, I am against the prophets, declares
the Lord, who use their tongues and declare, ‘declares the Lord.’ Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying
dreams, declares the Lord, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their
lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they
do not profit this people at all, declares the Lord.

上帝在此明確地說出先知預言和解夢者是不同的：先知預言的根據是上帝的話，是確確實實的；解夢的人說的是自己的夢境，是虛幻沒有根據的。然而先知是要引人歸向上帝，離棄罪惡；說夢的人卻是迎合人的喜好，來聽從他，受他操控。
今日我們成為上帝的傳道者，就是福音的傳揚者，不是述說我們的夢想，而是述說上帝的拯救。然而上帝的拯救是美過人的夢境，甚至比人的夢境更有吸引力，而且是真實可靠，雖然現在尚未完全實現。
然而人常常被虛假的夢境所迷惑，以至於沒有辦法來認識上帝的拯救。不認識上帝的拯救，就無法感受其美好與價值，就無法有合宜的行動，於是沉溺在夢幻與無知當中！
也因此，我們需要傳道者將上帝的拯救講清楚，讓聽的人被聖靈開啟，認識到人需要透過耶穌基督並祂釘十字架、死與復活、升天和再來，使我們永永遠遠與祂同享榮耀，並將榮耀歸給天父上帝，讓上帝的心意滿足！
