耶利米書1:4-10

1:4 耶利米說，耶和華的話臨到我說：

1:5 我未將你造在腹中，我已曉得你；你未出母胎，我已分別你為聖；我已派你作列國的先知。

1:6 我就說：主耶和華啊，我不知怎樣說，因為我是年幼的。

1:7 耶和華對我說：你不要說我是年幼的，因為我差遣你到誰那裡去，你都要去；我吩咐你說甚麼話，你都要說。

1:8 你不要懼怕他們，因為我與你同在，要拯救你。這是耶和華說的。

1:9 於是耶和華伸手按我的口，對我說：我已將當說的話傳給你。

1:10 看哪，我今日立你在列邦列國之上，為要施行拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆，又要建立、栽植。

4 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

and before you were born I consecrated you;

I appointed you a prophet to the nations."

6 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth." 7 But the Lord said to me,

"Do not say, 'I am only a youth';

for to all to whom I send you, you shall go,

and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

8 Do not be afraid of them,

 for I am with you to deliver you,

declares the Lord."

9 Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me,

"Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

10 See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,

 to pluck up and to break down,

to destroy and to overthrow,

to build and to plant."

    在這裡先知說到自己被上帝呼召的過程，也讓我們看見耶利米是年輕時被呼召的。人年輕的時候，總覺得自己才能不足，不可以承擔上帝所賦予的重責大任。但是上帝讓耶利米經歷到上帝的主權，就是耶和華伸手按他的口，對他說：「我已將當說的話傳給你。看哪，我今日立你在列邦列國之上，為要施行拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆，又要建立、栽植。」

    上帝要他先進行拆除的工作，就是「拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆」！這也是說，要成為上帝的合用者，就必須先經歷「拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆」，若沒有這樣，就無法「建立、栽植」！

    也因此，我們必須受上帝的「拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆」，將「舊的我」除滅致死，才可以「新的我」被建立與栽植起來！這就是復活的能力，沒有死亡、就沒有復活！讓我們勇敢來承受吧！上帝要大大的作為在我們身上！
