35:10 因為你曾說：『這二國這二邦必歸於我，我必得為業』（其實耶和華仍在那裡），
35:11 所以主耶和華說：我指著我的永生起誓，我必照你的怒氣和你從仇恨中向他們所發的嫉妒待你。我審判你的時候，必將自己顯明在他們中間。
35:12 你也必知道我─耶和華聽見了你的一切毀謗，就是你攻擊以色列山的話，說：『這些山荒涼，是歸我們吞滅的。』
35:13 你們也用口向我誇大，增添與我反對的話，我都聽見了。
35:14 主耶和華如此說：全地歡樂的時候，我必使你荒涼。
35:15 你怎樣因以色列家的地業荒涼而喜樂，我必照你所行的待你。西珥山哪，你和以東全地必都荒涼。你們就知道我是耶和華。」
“Because you said, These two nations and
these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of
them’—although the Lord was there—
therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you
according to the anger and envy that you showed because of your hatred against
them. And I will make myself known among them, when I judge you. And you shall know that I am the Lord.
“I have heard all the revilings that you
uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they
are given us to devour.’ And you
magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words
against me; I heard it. Thus says the
Lord God: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the
house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be
desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am
the Lord.

以東之所以要對以色列這麼壞，是因為想搶奪以色列和猶大兩個國家的土地，這樣的企圖上帝知道。所以懲罰以東，是因為上帝喜愛以色列，不容許別人來欺負與侵略！
這是要讓我們知道上帝對祂的子民的愛，所以凡是逼迫和陷害我們的人，到最後也必遭上帝的懲罰。因為，上帝必愛我們到底、保護到底！他不會放棄祂的子民，也不會讓祂的子民任由人欺負！
因此，成為上帝的子民，是多麼幸福的事！感謝主耶穌，讓我們透過信靠祂，成為上帝的兒女，是多麼有福的是啊！
