16:14 耶和華說：「日子將到，人必不再指著那領以色列人從埃及地上來之永生的耶和華起誓，
16:15 卻要指著那領以色列人從北方之地，並趕他們到的各國上來之永生的耶和華起誓，並且我要領他們再入我從前賜給他們列祖之地。」
16:16 耶和華說：「我要召許多打魚的把以色列人打上來，然後我要召許多打獵的，從各山上、各岡上、各石穴中獵取他們。
16:17 因我的眼目察看他們的一切行為；他們不能在我面前遮掩，他們的罪孽也不能在我眼前隱藏。
16:18 我先要加倍報應他們的罪孽和罪惡；因為他們用可憎之屍玷污我的地土，又用可厭之物充滿我的產業。」
16:19 耶和華啊，你是我的力量，是我的保障；在苦難之日是我的避難所。列國人必從地極來到你這裡，說：我們列祖所承受的，不過是虛假，是虛空無益之物。
16:20 人豈可為自己製造神呢？其實這不是神。
16:21 耶和華說：「我要使他們知道，就是這一次使他們知道我的手和我的能力。他們就知道我的名是耶和華了。」
“Therefore, behold, the days are coming,
declares the Lord, when it shall no longer be said, As the Lord lives who
brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but As the Lord lives who brought up the people
of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had
driven them.’ For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their
fathers.
“Behold, I am sending for many fishers,
declares the Lord, and they shall catch them. And afterward I will send for
many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and
out of the clefts of the rocks. For my
eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from me, nor is their iniquity
concealed from my eyes. But first I will
doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land
with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and have filled my inheritance
with their abominations.”
O Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
my refuge
in the day of trouble,
to you
shall the nations come
from the
ends of the earth and say:
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
worthless
things in which there is no profit.
Can man make for himself gods?
Such are
not gods!”
“Therefore, behold, I will make them know,
this once I will make them know my power and my might, and they shall know that
my name is the Lord.”

耶利米先知在此宣告「歸回」的信息，也就是上帝應許他們從被擄之地歸回的好消息！
當然這裡的被擄歸回的福音，不只是對以色列人，更是對所以有的人類，也就是萬國萬民說的！因為上帝在基督裡的拯救，就是被擄歸回！被罪所擄離開上帝的人，透過耶穌基督的拯救，又要再歸回了！
我們要存著感謝和讚美的心，來讚美上帝！要不是上帝在基督裡設立救恩，並透過聖靈所揀選的傳道人，將上帝拯救的話宣告出來，我們就無法得著上帝的拯救，使我們被擄歸回！
