22:41 法利賽人聚集的時候，耶穌問他們說：
22:42 「論到基督，你們的意見如何？他是誰的子孫呢？」他們回答說：「是大衛的子孫。」
22:43 耶穌說：「這樣，大衛被聖靈感動，怎麼還稱他為主，說：
22:44 主對我主說：你坐在我的右邊，等我把你仇敵放在你的腳下。
22:45 大衛既稱他為主，他怎麼又是大衛的子孫呢？」
22:46 他們沒有一個人能回答一言。從那日以後，也沒有人敢再問他甚麼。
While the Pharisees were gathered together,
Jesus asked them, “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”
“The son of David,” they replied.
He said to them, “How is it then that
David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet.”’
If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he
be his son?” No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one
dared to ask him any more questions.

基督不只是大衛的子孫，更是創造天地萬物的主。若是沒有這樣的體認，人常常只是把祂當成只是人，不能認祂為主！
基督是神人二性一位格，這也告訴我們不可將基督單單當成人，也不可單單將基督視為上帝，兩性是不可分的集合在基督身上，但是也不能將祂視為半神與半人。這是一件奧秘，卻是上帝奇妙的拯救作為。
故此，我們面對耶穌基督只有信靠，我們永遠是恩典的接受者，一切的拯救都是耶穌基督親自完成。
