彌迦書6:9-16

6:9 耶和華向這城呼叫，智慧人必敬畏他的名。你們當聽是誰派定刑杖的懲罰。

6:10 惡人家中不仍有非義之財和可惡的小升斗嗎？

6:11 我若用不公道的天平和囊中詭詐的法碼，豈可算為清潔呢？

6:12 城裡的富戶滿行強暴；其中的居民也說謊言，口中的舌頭是詭詐的。

6:13 因此，我擊打你，使你的傷痕甚重，使你因你的罪惡荒涼。

6:14 你要吃，卻吃不飽；你的虛弱必顯在你中間。你必挪去，卻不得救護；所救護的，我必交給刀劍。

6:15 你必撒種，卻不得收割；踹橄欖，卻不得油抹身；踹葡萄，卻不得酒喝。

6:16 因為你守暗利的惡規，行亞哈家一切所行的，順從他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你的居民令人嗤笑，你們也必擔當我民的羞辱。

The voice of the Lord cries to the city—

and it is sound wisdom to fear your name:

"Hear of the rod and of him who appointed it!

Can I forget any longer the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked,

and the scant measure that is accursed?

Shall I acquit the man with wicked scales

and with a bag of deceitful weights?

Your rich men are full of violence;

your inhabitants speak lies,

and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

Therefore I strike you with a grievous blow,

 making you desolate because of your sins.

You shall eat, but not be satisfied,

and there shall be hunger within you;

you shall put away, but not preserve,

and what you preserve I will give to the sword.

You shall sow, but not reap;

you shall tread olives, but not anoint yourselves with oil;

you shall tread grapes, but not drink wine.

For you have kept the statutes of Omri,

and all the works of the house of Ahab;

and you have walked in their counsels,

that I may make you a desolation, and your inhabitants a hissing;

so you shall bear the scorn of my people."

    彌迦在此說明：人想用詭詐的方式使自己過得更豐盛，那是不可能的！因為上帝是恨惡罪惡的上帝，人不能用罪惡、不公義的方法來搶奪，這是上帝所攔阻、所恨惡的！

    人當以公平與公正的方式來生活，而這樣的方式必須透過遵行上帝的律法。而要行出律法的能力來源，就當信靠與敬畏上帝，與上帝有正確的關係。這也是為什麼在舊約時代，要人透過獻祭來思想自己是有罪的人，無法靠自己得贖罪。在新約時代，更讓我們認識，若不是耶穌基督的贖罪，誰在上帝面前站立得住呢？

    所以，認識自己有罪，靠耶穌基督的救贖，來對付罪，就成了我們一生努力的功課了！
