7:1 哀哉！我（或譯：以色列）好像夏天的果子已被收盡，又像摘了葡萄所剩下的，沒有一掛可吃的；我心羨慕初熟的無花果。
7:2 地上虔誠人滅盡；世間沒有正直人；各人埋伏，要殺人流血，都用網羅獵取弟兄。
7:3 他們雙手作惡；君王徇情面，審判官要賄賂；位分大的吐出惡意，都彼此結聯行惡。
7:4 他們最好的，不過是蒺藜；最正直的，不過是荊棘籬笆。你守望者說，降罰的日子已經來到。他們必擾亂不安。
7:5 不要倚賴鄰舍；不要信靠密友。要守住你的口；不要向你懷中的妻提說。
7:6 因為，兒子藐視父親；女兒抗拒母親；媳婦抗拒婆婆；人的仇敵就是自己家裡的人。
7:7 至於我，我要仰望耶和華，要等候那救我的上帝；我的上帝必應允我。
Woe is me! For I have become
as when the summer fruit has been gathered,
as when the grapes have been gleaned:
there is no cluster to eat,
no first-ripe fig that my soul desires.
The
godly has perished from the earth,
and there is no one upright among mankind;
they all lie in wait for blood,
and each hunts the other with a net.
Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well;
the prince and the judge ask for a bribe,
and the great man utters the evil desire of
his soul;
thus they weave it together.
The best of them is like a brier,
the most upright of them a thorn hedge.
The day of your watchmen, of your
punishment, has come;
now their confusion is at hand.
Put
no trust in a neighbor;
have no confidence in a friend;
guard the doors of your mouth
from her who lies in your arms;
for
the son treats the father with contempt,
the daughter rises up against her mother,
the daughter-in-law against her
mother-in-law;
a man's enemies are the men of his own
house.
But
as for me, I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me.

我們要等候耶和華、仰望上帝，因為上帝的作為是需要時間的等候，但是上帝必定成就大事。雖然眼前的事讓我們失望，但是我們仍然要憑著信心，不要憑著眼見。
許多屬靈的偉人，都要經過上帝長期的熬練，熬練到人都快要忘記他們，可是上帝仍然記住，上帝就在適當的時機，讓他們被看見，讓祂們見證上帝的作為，使他們展現上帝的榮耀。
不要怕別人不知道，也不要怕別人沒有看見，上帝會在最恰當的時候，彰顯祂的作為，讓我們用禱告的心來等候！
