箴言1:1-7

1:1 以色列王大衛兒子所羅門的箴言：
1:2 要使人曉得智慧和訓誨，分辨通達的言語，
1:3 使人處事領受智慧、仁義、公平、正直的訓誨，
1:4 使愚人靈明，使少年人有知識和謀略，
1:5 使智慧人聽見，增長學問，使聰明人得著智謀，
1:6 使人明白箴言和譬喻，懂得智慧人的言詞和謎語。
1:7 敬畏耶和華是知識的開端；愚妄人藐視智慧和訓誨。

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

² for gaining wisdom and instruction;
    for understanding words of insight;
³ for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
    doing what is right and just and fair;
⁴ for giving prudence to those who are simple,
    knowledge and discretion to the young—
⁵ let the wise listen and add to their learning,
    and let the discerning get guidance—
⁶ for understanding proverbs and parables,
    the sayings and riddles of the wise.

⁷ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
    but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

    《箴言》開宗明義的說到，作者是以色列王大衛兒子所羅門；用意是「使你認識智慧和訓誨，明白格言深奧的含義。」

    明白《箴言》有甚麼好處呢？『教導你怎樣過明智的生活，怎樣作誠實、公正、正直的人。』『使無知的人精明，教導年輕人處事有方。』『使才智的人增長學問，使明達的人獲得開導，明白箴言中的隱喻，以及明智的人所提出的問題。』

    這告訴我們，讀《箴言》是非常重要的，不是背背句字就好了，要明白其中的道理並且去實踐，更是重要！所以，我們閱讀《箴言》時要禱告聖靈來引導，使我們可以明白並應用來榮耀上帝！
