18:3 我要求告當讚美的耶和華；這樣我必從仇敵手中被救出來。
18:4 曾有死亡的繩索纏繞我，匪類的急流使我驚懼，
18:5 陰間的繩索纏繞我，死亡的網羅臨到我。
18:6 我在急難中求告耶和華，向我的上帝呼求。他從殿中聽了我的聲音；我在他面前的呼求入了他的耳中。
18:7 那時，因他發怒，地就搖撼戰抖；山的根基也震動搖撼。
18:8 從他鼻孔冒煙上騰；從他口中發火焚燒，連炭也著了。
18:9 他又使天下垂，親自降臨，有黑雲在他腳下。
18:10 他坐著基路伯飛行；他藉著風的翅膀快飛。
18:11 他以黑暗為藏身之處，以水的黑暗、天空的厚雲為他四圍的行宮。
18:12 因他面前的光輝，他的厚雲行過便有冰雹火炭。

From his temple he heard my voice;

7 The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13 The Lord thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.[d]
14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy,
with great bolts of lightning he routed them.
15 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke, Lord,
at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

大衛說到自己雖然面對死亡的攻擊，就是被匪類包圍，讓他十分懼怕！可是他呼求上帝，上帝就以祂的威嚴來保護他，使他沒有受到傷害。所以他勇敢的見證：「他從殿中聽了我的聲音；我在他面前的呼求入了他的耳中。」
大衛這樣的經歷也激勵我們，讓我們知道上帝不是靜靜不聽禱告，容許惡人和匪類際需傷害人！當我們呼求上帝時，上帝一定會適時伸出大能的手來扶持與幫助！
也因為如此，我們要將我們的生命交託在上帝的手中，祂必保守我們到底，拯救我們脫離一切患難。只要我們堅心倚賴祂，必定會感受到祂的慈愛永遠長存，心中充滿感謝與讚美！
