24:36 正說這話的時候，耶穌親自站在他們當中，說：「願你們平安！」
24:37 他們卻驚慌害怕，以為所看見的是魂。
24:38 耶穌說：「你們為甚麼愁煩？為甚麼心裡起疑念呢？
24:39 你們看我的手，我的腳，就知道實在是我了。摸我看看！魂無骨無肉，你們看，我是有的。」
24:40 說了這話，就把手和腳給他們看。
24:41 他們正喜得不敢信，並且希奇；耶穌就說：「你們這裡有甚麼吃的沒有？」
24:42 他們便給他一片燒魚。（有古卷加：和一塊蜜房。）
24:43 他接過來，在他們面前吃了。
24:44 耶穌對他們說：「這就是我從前與你們同在之時所告訴你們的話說：摩西的律法、先知的書，和詩篇上所記的，凡指著我的話都必須應驗。」
24:45 於是耶穌開他們的心竅，使他們能明白聖經，
24:46 又對他們說：「照經上所寫的，基督必受害，第三日從死裡復活，
24:47 並且人要奉他的名傳悔改、赦罪的道，從耶路撒冷起直傳到萬邦。
24:48 你們就是這些事的見證。
24:49 我要將我父所應許的降在你們身上，你們要在城裡等候，直到你們領受從上頭來的能力。」
36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”
40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

主耶穌要升天前，想門徒顯現，並且應許聖靈的來到！正如主耶穌吩咐他們的使命：「照經上所寫的，基督必受害，第三日從死裡復活，並且人要奉他的名傳悔改、赦罪的道，從耶路撒冷起直傳到萬邦。你們就是這些事的見證。我要將我父所應許的降在你們身上，你們要在城裡等候，直到你們領受從上頭來的能力。」
主耶穌復活之後，時間到了就要升天回上帝的右邊，然後聖靈來到，展現上帝的大能大力！當然聖靈降臨之後，教會的角色才明顯出來，因為聖靈是教會的主，祂要將教會聖化成為主耶穌的新娘！
然而教會在世上的工作是有期限的，就是到主耶穌的再臨，上帝國完全實現的時候！因為主耶穌升天之後，祂還要再來！讓我們隨時隨刻準備好迎接主耶穌的再來！
