6:12 人一生虛度的日子，就如影兒經過，誰知道甚麼與他有益呢？誰能告訴他身後在日光之下有甚麼事呢？

傳道者在這裡說到了人最無奈的事，就是許多人都希望自己的名聲被人知道，卻偏偏無人注意，仍然是一個無名小卒！感覺自己真的無法力挽狂瀾，出人頭地，使大家都認識！
然而傳道者告訴人，不要想要突破命定的限制，因為人被高舉是來自上帝的作為，不是自己做了甚麼，做得越多、說得越多，都無法與上帝對抗，改變自己的命定。
所以，我們要清楚自己的極限，不要去想要改變自己無法改變的事。不要浪費自己的生命在無意義的事，而要成為一個敬畏上帝的人。存著敬畏的心來為上帝而活，因為我們是上帝的傑作，生命的意義在上帝，不在自己！
