27:9 摩西和祭司利未人曉諭以色列眾人說：「以色列啊，要默默靜聽。你今日成為耶和華─你上帝的百姓了。
27:10 所以要聽從耶和華─你上帝的話，遵行他的誡命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的。」
27:11 當日，摩西囑咐百姓說：
27:12 「你們過了約旦河，西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、約瑟、便雅憫六個支派的人都要站在基利心山上為百姓祝福。
27:13 流便、迦得、亞設、西布倫、但、拿弗他利六個支派的人都要站在以巴路山上宣布咒詛。
27:14 利未人要向以色列眾人高聲說：
27:15 「『有人製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像，或雕刻，或鑄造，就是工匠手所做的，在暗中設立，那人必受咒詛！』百姓都要答應說：『阿們！』
27:16 「『輕慢父母的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:17 「『挪移鄰舍地界的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:18 「『使瞎子走差路的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:19 「『向寄居的和孤兒寡婦屈枉正直的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:20 「『與繼母行淫的，必受咒詛！因為掀開他父親的衣襟。』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:21 「『與獸淫合的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:22 「『與異母同父，或異父同母的姊妹行淫的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:23 「『與岳母行淫的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:24 「『暗中殺人的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:25 「『受賄賂害死無辜之人的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』
27:26 「『不堅守遵行這律法言語的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』

9 Then
Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and
listen! You have now become the people of the Lord
your God. 10 Obey the Lord
your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”
11 On
the same day Moses commanded the people:
12 When
you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless
the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. 13 And
these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher,
Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
14 The
Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:
15 “Cursed
is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
16 “Cursed
is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
17 “Cursed
is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
18 “Cursed
is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
19 “Cursed
is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the
widow.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
20 “Cursed
is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
21 “Cursed
is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
22 “Cursed
is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the
daughter of his mother.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
23 “Cursed
is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
24 “Cursed
is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
25 “Cursed
is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”
26 “Cursed
is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.”
Then
all the people shall say, “Amen!”

摩西對百姓說的話，對今日基督徒仍然是必須遵守的，正如這裡所宣告的：「以色列啊，要默默靜聽。你今日成為耶和華─你上帝的百姓了。所以要聽從耶和華─你上帝的話，遵行他的誡命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的。」
摩西在此說明了我們為何要遵行上帝的誡命律例，因為我們成為成為耶和華─我們上帝的百姓了。是因為上帝先施恩拯救我們，正如今天我們是靠上帝的恩典成為上帝的兒女，所以我們要遵行上帝的誡命律例，這是我們的本分！
而我們是因為愛上帝，不願意離開上帝，所以我們要遠離上帝所不喜悅的事，就像這裡提到的12項咒詛的事情，我們為了愛上帝、討上帝喜悅，要堅決遠離惡行！正如我們信主悔改，就是遠離罪惡，靠上帝在基督裡的恩典來歸向上帝！
