讀到這首詩歌，就想到最謙卑的人，就是主耶穌，因為祂本是上帝，卻成為卑微的人，甚至卑微到成為世人的贖罪祭，承擔所有上帝所要拯救的人的罪債！可是，人們竟然不知感恩，認為祂理當如此被對待！
可是，當人被聖靈感動明白過來的時候，內心的苦痛與愧疚，誰能承受得起呢？正如彼得在五旬節的時候對來耶路撒冷過節的猶太人說到：「故此，以色列全家當確實地知道，你們釘在十字架上的這位耶穌，上帝已經立他為主，為基督了。」（使徒行傳2:36）
這時他們的反應是覺得扎心，如同詩人在此所說：「惟獨你(上帝)是可畏的！你(上帝)怒氣一發，誰能在你面前站得住呢？」就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：「弟兄們，我們當怎樣行？」
當你清楚上帝的審判的時候，相信你也會和那一群猶太人一樣的感受，感受到上帝的憤怒我怎能承受得起呢？這時候，為我們死在十字架的主耶穌，要成為為我們的中保拯救我們！祂為我們辯護，展現自己在十字架上所付的代價！使上帝和人重新復和：我們看見上帝的慈愛，為救我們犧牲了獨生愛子；而上帝看見人的刑罰已經落在聖羔羊的身上了，被殺的羔羊承擔了一切並流出寶血，滿足了上帝義的要求了！也讓我們歸向上帝成為聖潔了，使我們得著上帝兒女的身分！
上帝在基督裡的救贖是完全，而且是有效的，一次的作為，卻有永遠的功能！
