11:1 你們該效法我，像我效法基督一樣。
11:2 我稱讚你們，因你們凡事記念我，又堅守我所傳給你們的。
11:3 我願意你們知道，基督是各人的頭；男人是女人的頭；上帝是基督的頭。
11:4 凡男人禱告或是講道（或譯：說預言；下同），若蒙著頭，就羞辱自己的頭。
11:5 凡女人禱告或是講道，若不蒙著頭，就羞辱自己的頭，因為這就如同剃了頭髮一樣。
11:6 女人若不蒙著頭，就該剪了頭髮；女人若以剪髮、剃髮為羞愧，就該蒙著頭。
11:7 男人本不該蒙著頭，因為他是上帝的形像和榮耀；但女人是男人的榮耀。
11:8 起初，男人不是由女人而出，女人乃是由男人而出；
11:9 並且男人不是為女人造的，女人乃是為男人造的。
11:10 因此，女人為天使的緣故，應當在頭上有服權柄的記號。
11:11 然而照主的安排，女也不是無男，男也不是無女。
11:12 因為女人原是由男人而出，男人也是由女人而出；但萬有都是出乎上帝。
11:13 你們自己審察，女人禱告上帝，不蒙著頭是合宜的嗎？
11:14 你們的本性不也指示你們，男人若有長頭髮，便是他的羞辱嗎？
11:15 但女人有長頭髮，乃是她的榮耀，因為這頭髮是給她作蓋頭的。
11:16 若有人想要辯駁，我們卻沒有這樣的規矩，上帝的眾教會也是沒有的。

1 Follow my example, as I follow
the example of Christ.
2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the
traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize
that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God.
4 Every man who prays or
prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or
prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having
her head shaved. 6 For
if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off;
but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head
shaved, then she should cover her head.7 A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own[c] head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

基督徒的一生最重要的是要效法基督，就是保羅說的：「你們該效法我，像我效法基督一樣。我稱讚你們，因你們凡事記念我，又堅守我所傳給你們的。」
傳道者就是教會當中傳講話語的人，上帝是藉由話語與人接觸，來更新人成為基督的樣式，使基督成形在信徒的心中。而傳講話語的人，必須先被上帝話語來更新，所以要先自己效法基督，才有辦法使人認識基督。就像保羅討論蒙頭不蒙頭，不是為各人的榮耀，而是為基督的榮耀，所以要有男女之次序。當然今日文化不需要蒙頭，但是次序仍然要注意。不管是怎樣的情形，基督是教會的頭，如男人一樣，教會是為基督的身體如女人一般。教會要的就是榮耀基督，不是榮耀自己！
因此，教會不在大小，而是在於有沒有讓基督在教會成為主，信徒要效法基督，為榮耀上帝而活。
