1:8 因此，你不要把為我們的主作證當作一件羞恥的事，也不要因我為了主的緣故成為囚犯而覺得羞恥。你要按照上帝所賜的力量，為福音分擔苦難。 1:9 上帝拯救我們，呼召我們作他的子民，並不是因為我們有甚麼好行為，而是出於他的旨意和恩典。他在萬世以前就藉著基督耶穌把這恩典賜給了我們， 1:10 現在由於我們的救主基督耶穌的來臨而實現了。基督已經毀滅了死亡的權勢，更藉著福音把不朽的生命彰顯出來。 1:11 為了這福音，上帝指派我作傳道者、使徒，和教師。 1:12 因此，我才受這些苦難。但是，我仍然滿懷確信；因為我知道我所信靠的是誰，也深信他能夠保守他所付託給我的，直到主再來的日子。 1:13 你要堅守我所給你的那健全的信息，作為你的規範，也要守住我們跟基督耶穌連結所得到的信心和愛心。 1:14 要藉著住在我們內心的聖靈持守那付託給你的美善。
So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day. What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

福音是上帝給世人的好消息，當然這好消息也要有人傳揚，你願意成為福音的傳揚者嗎？
雖然成為福音的傳揚者，可能會遇見許多苦難，但是主必保守我們到底！所以，我們可以放心的將自己交託給主，讓上帝得著榮耀。
