以賽亞書48:1-11

48:1 雅各家，稱為以色列名下，從猶大水源出來的，當聽我言！你們指著耶和華的名起誓，提說以色列的上帝，卻不憑誠實，不憑公義。
48:2 他們自稱為聖城的人，所倚靠的是名為萬軍之耶和華─以色列的上帝。
48:3 主說：早先的事，我從古時說明，已經出了我的口，也是我所指示的；我忽然行做，事便成就。
48:4 因為我素來知道你是頑梗的─你的頸項是鐵的；你的額是銅的。
48:5 所以，我從古時將這事給你說明，在未成以先指示你，免得你說：這些事是我的偶像所行的，是我雕刻的偶像和我鑄造的偶像所命定的。
48:6 你已經聽見，現在要看見這一切；你不說明嗎？從今以後，我將新事，就是你所不知道的隱密事指示你。
48:7 這事是現今造的，並非從古就有；在今日以先，你也未曾聽見，免得你說：這事我早已知道了。
48:8 你未曾聽見，未曾知道；你的耳朵從來未曾開通。我原知道你行事極其詭詐，你自從出胎以來，便稱為悖逆的。
48:9 我為我的名暫且忍怒，為我的頌讚向你容忍，不將你剪除。
48:10 我熬煉你，卻不像熬煉銀子；你在苦難的爐中，我揀選你。
48:11 我為自己的緣故必行這事，我焉能使我的名被褻瀆？我必不將我的榮耀歸給假神。

Hear this, O house of Jacob,

who are called by the name of Israel,

and who came forth from the loins of Judah;

who swear by the name of the Lord,

and invoke the God of Israel,

but not in truth or right.

For they call themselves after the holy city,

and lean on the God of Israel;

the Lord of hosts is his name.

The former things I declared long ago,

they went out from my mouth and I made them known;

then suddenly I did them and they came to pass.

Because I know that you are obstinate,

and your neck is an iron sinew

and your forehead brass,

I declared them to you from long ago,

before they came to pass I announced them to you,

so that you would not say, “My idol did them,

my carved image and my cast image commanded them.”

You have heard; now see all this;

and will you not declare it?

From this time forward I make you hear new things,

hidden things that you have not known.

They are created now, not long ago;

before today you have never heard of them,

so that you could not say, “I already knew them.”

8

You have never heard, you have never known,

from of old your ear has not been opened.

For I knew that you would deal very treacherously,

and that from birth you were called a rebel.

9

For my name’s sake I defer my anger,

for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you,

so that I may not cut you off.

10

See, I have refined you, but not like silver;

I have tested you in the furnace of adversity.

11

For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it,

for why should my name be profaned?

My glory I will not give to another.

    上帝是行事的上帝，祂之所以如此，是因為「我為自己的緣故必行這事，我焉能使我的名被褻瀆？我必不將我的榮耀歸給假神。」

    這也就是告訴我們：上帝是看重祂的榮耀的，祂不僅將祂的榮耀在我們生命中張顯，更是要我們將榮耀歸給祂、敬拜祂、尊榮祂！祂最恨惡的事，就是竊取祂的榮耀和將榮耀歸給假神！

    也因為這樣，我們在基督裡要尊上帝為大！因為要不是上帝的旨意，我們的命運只有沉淪，怎能得著永生，怎能進入上帝的家中，成為上帝的兒女，並承受上帝永遠的國，與基督一同做王！
