路加福音9:10-17

 

9:10 使徒回來，將所做的事告訴耶穌，耶穌就帶他們暗暗地離開那裡，往一座城去；那城名叫伯賽大。
9:11 但眾人知道了，就跟著他去；耶穌便接待他們，對他們講論上帝國的道，醫治那些需要醫治的人。
9:12 日頭快要平西，十二個門徒來對他說：「請叫眾人散開，他們好往四面鄉村裡去借宿找吃的，因為我們這裡是野地。」
9:13 耶穌說：「你們給他們吃吧！」門徒說：「我們不過有五個餅，兩條魚，若不去為這許多人買食物就不夠。」
9:14 那時，人數約有五千。耶穌對門徒說：「叫他們一排一排地坐下，每排大約五十個人。」
9:15 門徒就如此行，叫眾人都坐下。
9:16 耶穌拿著這五個餅，兩條魚，望著天祝福，擘開，遞給門徒，擺在眾人面前。
9:17 他們就吃，並且都吃飽了；把剩下的零碎收拾起來，裝滿了十二籃子。

 

¹⁰ When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, ¹¹ but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

¹² Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

¹³ He replied, “You give them something to eat.”

They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” ¹⁴ (About five thousand men were there.)

But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” ¹⁵ The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. ¹⁶ Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. ¹⁷ They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

    有句話說：「民以食為天！」

 

    表示吃東西對人是很重要的，因為身體的生命的延續需要靠飲食。而主耶穌取了肉身住在人中間，知道人有飲食的需要。所以，他才會對門徒說：「你們給他們吃吧！」

 

    這的確是對門徒一大考驗，門徒說：「我們不過有五個餅，兩條魚，若不去為這許多人買食物就不夠。」

 

    但是主耶穌對門徒說：「叫他們一排一排地坐下，每排大約五十個人。」

 

    耶穌拿著這五個餅，兩條魚，望著天祝福，擘開，遞給門徒，擺在眾人面前。奇妙的事情就發生了：他們就吃，並且都吃飽了；把剩下的零碎收拾起來，裝滿了十二籃子。

 

    從這事我們看見，不要擔心我們擁有的不多，而是要勇敢將我們所有的交給主來用，將會發生我們無法想像的事情：我們所擁有的就成為主耶穌賜給別人的供應，人因此得飽足而使主的名大得榮耀！
