8:9 「要堅強！你們現在所聽見的話，正是重建聖殿、奠立根基時先知所說過的話。 8:10 那以前，沒有人雇得起人或牲畜，在敵人窺伺下沒有人覺得安全，因為我使人民互相敵對。 8:11 但是，現在我不像從前那樣對待殘存的人民。 8:12 他們將平安地撒種；葡萄樹會結出葡萄，土地出產五榖；雨水充足。我要把這些福氣賜給殘存的人民。 8:13 猶大和以色列的人民哪，過去外族人曾互相詛咒說：『願猶大和以色列所遭的災禍臨到你身上！』可是我要拯救你們；那時，外族人要彼此說：『願你得到猶大和以色列所得的福氣！』所以，你們要堅強，不要害怕。」
This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'You who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were there when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD Almighty, let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built. Before that time there were no wages for man or beast. No one could go about his business safely because of his enemy, for I had turned every man against his neighbor. But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past,' declares the LORD Almighty. 'The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people. As you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.'

以色列人雖然經過滅國、亡族之事情，但是上帝並沒有放棄他們，他們更在第二次世界大戰之後復國。雖然四圍的阿拉伯國家，曾經多次想再次把她滅了，但是都無法成功。
所以，先隻在此說的話應驗了：「猶大和以色列的人民哪，過去外族人曾互相詛咒說：『願猶大和以色列所遭的災禍臨到你身上！』可是我要拯救你們；那時，外族人要彼此說：『願你得到猶大和以色列所得的福氣！』所以，你們要堅強，不要害怕。」
同樣，基督徒也要勇敢，上帝如何善待以色列人，祂也要善待祂的兒女，祂必將永生之福賜給我們。因此，我們要常存盼望，勇敢為上帝而活，祂的應許永不落空！
