讀到亞薩的詩，讓人感覺有一份恨意，尤其是對以色列周圍的列邦，因為他們常常欺壓以色列人，導致他心中一直盼望上帝起來為以色列申冤，好讓上帝的名可以得著榮耀與稱讚！
我們或許會問，主耶穌不是要我們愛仇敵？要饒恕人嗎？為何詩篇的作者亞薩的詩卻充滿著火爆？希望上帝要攻擊和懲罰惡帶以色列國的列國和列邦呢？讓我們感覺基督徒好像可以報仇一般？可以反抗逼迫我們的人！
其實，主耶穌不是和平主義者！祂也告訴門徒要勇敢面對逼迫，甚至要用刀劍來防身，「但如今有錢囊的可以帶著，有口袋的也可以帶著，沒有刀的要賣衣服買刀。我告訴你們，經上寫著說：『他被列在罪犯之中。』這話必應驗在我身上；因為那關係我的事必然成就。」(路加福音22:36-37)
雖然如此，我們還是要將伸冤的事交託在上帝的手中，正如保羅所說：「若是能行，總要盡力與眾人和睦。親愛的弟兄，不要自己伸冤，寧可讓步，聽憑主怒（或譯：讓人發怒）；因為經上記著：「主說：『伸冤在我，我必報應。』」（羅馬書12:18-19）
因為我們還有更重要的事，就是為主耶穌做見證、傳福音，把自己的事放一邊，上帝的託付才是我們的當務之急！主自然會為我們處理，我們當以上帝國的是為念！如此，我們才會有平靜安穩的生命！
