11:14 耶和華的話臨到我說：
11:15 「人子啊，耶路撒冷的居民對你的弟兄、你的本族、你的親屬、以色列全家，就是對大眾說：『你們遠離耶和華吧！這地是賜給我們為業的。』
11:16 所以你當說：『耶和華如此說：我雖將以色列全家遠遠遷移到列國中，將他們分散在列邦內，我還要在他們所到的列邦，暫作他們的聖所。』
11:17 你當說：『主耶和華如此說：我必從萬民中招聚你們，從分散的列國內聚集你們，又要將以色列地賜給你們。』
11:18 他們必到那裡，也必從其中除掉一切可憎可厭的物。
11:19 我要使他們有合一的心，也要將新靈放在他們裡面，又從他們肉體中除掉石心，賜給他們肉心，
11:20 使他們順從我的律例，謹守遵行我的典章。他們要作我的子民，我要作他們的上帝。
11:21 至於那些心中隨從可憎可厭之物的，我必照他們所行的報應在他們頭上。這是主耶和華說的。」
11:22 於是，基路伯展開翅膀，輪子都在他們旁邊；在他們以上有以色列上帝的榮耀。
11:23 耶和華的榮耀從城中上升，停在城東的那座山上。
11:24 靈將我舉起，在異象中藉著上帝的靈將我帶進迦勒底地，到被擄的人那裡；我所見的異象就離我上升去了。
11:25 我便將耶和華所指示我的一切事都說給被擄的人聽。
14 And the word of the Lord came to me:15
"Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, your kinsmen, the whole
house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem
have said, 'Go far from the Lord; to us this land is given for a possession. '
16 Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord God:Though I removed them far off among
the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a
sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone. ' 17
Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from the peoples and
assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will
give you the land of Israel. ' 18 And when they come there, they will remove from
it all its detestable things and all its abominations. 19 And I will give them
one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of
stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20 that they may walk in
my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I
will be their God. 21 But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable
things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads,
declares the Lord God."
22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings,
with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them.
23 And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and stood on
the mountain that is on the east side of the city. 24 And the Spirit lifted me
up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the
exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 And I told the
exiles all the things that the Lord had shown me.

耶路撒冷居民以為被擄的人是失去了應許之地的產業，沒有被擄的人可以繼承這些產業。這些沒有被擄的人大概心裡認為上帝的能力就是侷限於以色列地，而被擄的人就是被上帝趕走的。上帝讓猶大人被擄走，但他還要讓他們可以敬拜。不是如目前還留在耶路撒冷的人所想的：離開聖殿就沒有上帝可拜。「我還要在他們所到的列邦，暫作他們的聖所」，表是上帝仍然與被擄的人同在。
上帝要讓被擄的人再一次經歷「新出埃及」，上帝要由各國中重新讓以色列人出埃及得回應許之地，以色列人也一樣受命要「除掉可憎之物」。不僅如此，「我要使他們有合一的心，也要將新靈放在他們裡面，又從他們肉體中除掉石心，賜給他們肉心，使他們順從我的律例，謹守遵行我的典章」。這就像新約時代上帝將聖靈放在我們心中，使我們成為新子民的記號，是真正的子民。正如接下來所說：「他們要作我的子民，我要作他們的上帝。」
這也預言將來以色列的復興不是靠留在耶路撒的人，而是被擄歸回的人。髂些留在耶路撒冷的人若繼續「心中隨從可憎可厭之物的，我必照他們所行的報應在他們頭上」。甚至在這裡還看見「耶和華的榮耀從城中上升，停在城東的那座山上」。而猶大被擄的人是被擄到東方，上帝的榮耀往東方移動，由以西結看起來，上帝就是往他們的所在地移動。
因此，我們不要害怕劇烈的變化，這是上帝要提升我們，正如約瑟不被賣，豈能當宰相呢？耶穌基督不上十字架死了，怎麼會有復活呢？不要忘記得勝是屬乎上帝和祂的子民呢！
