12:1 耶和華的話又臨到我說：
12:2 「人子啊，你住在悖逆的家中。他們有眼睛看不見，有耳朵聽不見，因為他們是悖逆之家。
12:3 所以人子啊，你要預備擄去使用的物件，在白日當他們眼前從你所住的地方移到別處去；他們雖是悖逆之家，或者可以揣摩思想。
12:4 你要在白日當他們眼前帶出你的物件去，好像預備擄去使用的物件。到了晚上，你要在他們眼前親自出去，像被擄的人出去一樣。
12:5 你要在他們眼前挖通了牆，從其中將物件帶出去。
12:6 到天黑時，你要當他們眼前搭在肩頭上帶出去，並要蒙住臉看不見地，因為我立你作以色列家的預兆。」
12:7 我就照著所吩咐的去行，白日帶出我的物件，好像預備擄去使用的物件。到了晚上，我用手挖通了牆。天黑的時候，就當他們眼前搭在肩頭上帶出去。
12:8 次日早晨，耶和華的話臨到我說：
12:9 「人子啊，以色列家，就是那悖逆之家，豈不是問你說：『你做什麼呢？』
12:10 你要對他們說：『主耶和華如此說：這是關乎耶路撒冷的君王和他周圍以色列全家的預表（原文是擔子）。』
12:11 你要說：『我作你們的預兆：我怎樣行，他們所遭遇的也必怎樣，他們必被擄去。』
12:12 他們中間的君王也必在天黑的時候將物件搭在肩頭上帶出去。他們要挖通了牆，從其中帶出去。他必蒙住臉，眼看不見地。
12:13 我必將我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中纏住。我必帶他到迦勒底人之地的巴比倫；他雖死在那裡，卻看不見那地。
12:14 周圍一切幫助他的和他所有的軍隊，我必分散四方（方：原文是風），也要拔刀追趕他們。
12:15 我將他們四散在列國、分散在列邦的時候，他們就知道我是耶和華。
12:16 我卻要留下他們幾個人得免刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫，使他們在所到的各國中述說他們一切可憎的事，人就知道我是耶和華。」
1 The word of the Lord came to me:2
"Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes
to see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not, for they are a
rebellious house. 3 As for you, son of man, prepare for yourself an exile's
baggage, and go into exile by day in their sight. You shall go like an exile
from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will understand,
though they are a rebellious house. 4 You shall bring out your baggage by day
in their sight, as baggage for exile, and you shall go out yourself at evening
in their sight, as those do who must go into exile. 5 In their sight dig
through the wall, and bring your baggage out through it. 6 In their sight you shall
lift the baggage upon your shoulder and carry it out at dusk. You shall cover
your face that you may not see the land, for I have made you a sign for the
house of Israel."
7 And I did as I was commanded. I brought
out my baggage by day, as baggage for exile, and in the evening I dug through
the wall with my own hands. I brought out my baggage at dusk, carrying it on my
shoulder in their sight.
8 In the morning the word of the Lord came
to me:9 "Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house,
said to you, 'What are you doing? ' 10 Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord
God:This oracle concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel
who are in it. ' 11 Say, 'I am a sign for you: as I have done, so shall it be
done to them. They shall go into exile, into captivity. ' 12 And the prince who
is among them shall lift his baggage upon his shoulder at dusk, and shall go
out. They shall dig through the wall to bring him out through it. He shall
cover his face, that he may not see the land with his eyes. 13 And I will
spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. And I will bring him
to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he shall not see it, and he shall
die there. 14 And I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him, his
helpers and all his troops, and I will unsheathe the sword after them. 15 And
they shall know that I am the Lord, when I disperse them among the nations and
scatter them among the countries. 16 But I will let a few of them escape from
the sword, from famine and pestilence, that they may declare all their
abominations among the nations where they go, and may know that I am the
Lord."

這是很有確的記載，表演帶被擄的物件與挖牆出去。以西結表演的時候，他也不清楚上帝要他表演的用意是什麼，直到隔天清晨，上帝才說明。而上帝要他表演是因為他面對的是一群「悖逆之家」，而上帝希望他們「或者可以揣摩思想」！
或許他這樣表演真的引起人的注意，上帝就將要講的訊息藉他說明出去，『我作你們的預兆：我怎樣行，他們所遭遇的也必怎樣，他們必被擄去。』
12-16節這段顯示上帝是親自抓住西底家，也審判以色列人。目標是要讓以色列人可以到各國作見證，讓列國知道上帝。正如列王紀下25章7節所說：「在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且剜了西底家的眼睛，用銅鍊鎖著他，帶到巴比倫去。」
雖然這是古代發生的事情，卻是今日的借鏡，我們要靠聖靈從悖逆中回轉到上帝面前，上帝讓以色列在悖逆中滅亡，卻透過祂的心意，使被擄的人當中建立起「復興」的力量，藉著「餘種」重新建立新以色列，重新建造聖殿，重新使以色列對耶和華的信仰重新堅定和建立，好完成「預備基督」的使命！
