22:54 他們拿住耶穌，把他帶到大祭司的宅裡。彼得遠遠地跟著。
22:55 他們在院子裡生了火，一同坐著；彼得也坐在他們中間。
22:56 有一個使女看見彼得坐在火光裡，就定睛看他，說：「這個人素來也是同那人一夥的。」
22:57 彼得卻不承認，說：「女子，我不認得他。」
22:58 過了不多的時候，又有一個人看見他，說：「你也是他們一黨的。」彼得說：「你這個人！我不是。」
22:59 約過了一小時，又有一個人極力地說：「他實在是同那人一夥的，因為他也是加利利人。」
22:60 彼得說：「你這個人！我不曉得你說的是甚麼！」正說話之間，雞就叫了。
22:61 主轉過身來看彼得，彼得便想起主對他所說的話：「今日雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」
22:62 他就出去痛哭。
54 Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. 55 And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them. 56 A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”
57 But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
58 A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.”
“Man, I am not!” Peter replied.
59 About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”
60 Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.
