耶利米哀歌2:15-17

2:15 凡過路的都向你拍掌。他們向耶路撒冷城嗤笑，搖頭，說：難道人所稱為全美的，稱為全地所喜悅的，就是這城嗎？

2:16 你的仇敵都向你大大張口；他們嗤笑，又切齒說：我們吞滅她。這真是我們所盼望的日子臨到了！我們親眼看見了！

2:17 耶和華成就了他所定的，應驗了他古時所命定的。他傾覆了，並不顧惜，使你的仇敵向你誇耀；使你敵人的角也被高舉。

All who pass along the way

clap their hands at you;

they hiss and wag their heads

at the daughter of Jerusalem:

“Is this the city that was called

the perfection of beauty,

the joy of all the earth?”

  All your enemies

rail against you;

they hiss, they gnash their teeth,

they cry: “We have swallowed her!

Ah, this is the day we longed for;

now we have it; we see it!”

  The Lord has done what he purposed;

he has carried out his word,

which he commanded long ago;

he has thrown down without pity;

he has made the enemy rejoice over you

and exalted the might of your foes.

    先知再次的警戒以色列民，上帝會讓仇敵來向敗壞的子民誇勝！

    的確，教會若不謹記上帝是聖潔的上帝，仍然讓自己放縱在罪惡之中，即使有外表華麗與雄偉的禮拜堂，有讓人感動的禮拜，有吸引人的活動，有人山人海的聚會，都將歸於無有！正如以色列人的聖殿被毀一般！

    我們豈能不悔改，不誠實面對上帝的話語呢？豈可消滅聖靈的感動呢？
