10:1 耶和華啊，你為甚麼站在遠處？在患難的時候為甚麼隱藏？
10:2 惡人在驕橫中把困苦人追得火急；願他們陷在自己所設的計謀裡。
10:3 因為惡人以心願自誇；貪財的背棄耶和華，並且輕慢他（或譯：他祝福貪財的，卻輕慢耶和華）。
10:4 惡人面帶驕傲，說：耶和華必不追究；他一切所想的都以為沒有上帝。
10:5 凡他所做的，時常穩固；你的審判超過他的眼界。至於他一切的敵人，他都向他們噴氣。
10:6 他心裡說：我必不動搖，世世代代不遭災難。
10:7 他滿口是咒罵、詭詐、欺壓，舌底是毒害、奸惡。
10:8 他在村莊埋伏等候；他在隱密處殺害無辜的人。他的眼睛窺探無倚無靠的人；
10:9 他埋伏在暗地，如獅子蹲在洞中。他埋伏，要擄去困苦人；他拉網，就把困苦人擄去。
10:10 他屈身蹲伏，無倚無靠的人就倒在他爪牙（爪牙：或譯強暴人）之下。
10:11 他心裡說：上帝竟忘記了；他掩面永不觀看。
10:12 耶和華啊，求你起來！上帝啊，求你舉手，不要忘記困苦人！
10:13 惡人為何輕慢上帝，心裡說：你必不追究？
10:14 其實你已經觀看；因為奸惡毒害，你都看見了，為要以手施行報應。無倚無靠的人把自己交託你；你向來是幫助孤兒的。
10:15 願你打斷惡人的膀臂；至於壞人，願你追究他的惡，直到淨盡。
10:16 耶和華永永遠遠為王；外邦人從他的地已經滅絕了。
10:17 耶和華啊，謙卑人的心願，你早已知道（原文是聽見）。你必預備他們的心，也必側耳聽他們的祈求，
10:18 為要給孤兒和受欺壓的人伸冤，使強橫的人不再威嚇他們。

who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart;
he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.
4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 His ways are always prosperous;
your laws are rejected by[b] him;
he sneers at all his enemies.
6 He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.”
He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”

9 like a lion in cover he lies in wait.
He lies in wait to catch the helpless;
he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10 His victims are crushed, they collapse;
they fall under his strength.
11 He says to himself, “God will never notice;
he covers his face and never sees.”

Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless.

Why does he say to himself,
“He won’t call me to account”?
14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked man;
call the evildoer to account for his wickedness
that would not otherwise be found out.
Do not forget the helpless.

惡人因為不敬畏上帝，進而不看重上帝所珍愛的人，壓迫與殘害人，來奪取自己最大的利益。他們的心中只有自己，否定上帝的存在，否定人的尊嚴，還以為上帝不會追究。
其實我們打開歷史，看見任何獨裁者的下場，就是被丟進歷史的灰燼當中，沒有一個人有好下場，因為他們害人無數，不敬畏上帝！雖然好像會在終末才會被上帝刑罰，其實他們在世上的時候，就已經被上帝追討了！
因為當他們欺壓人的時候，上帝已經看見了，正如詩人所說：「其實你已經觀看；因為奸惡毒害，你都看見了，為要以手施行報應。無倚無靠的人把自己交託你；你向來是幫助孤兒的。」「耶和華啊，謙卑人的心願，你早已知道（原文是聽見）。你必預備他們的心，也必側耳聽他們的祈求，為要給孤兒和受欺壓的人伸冤，使強橫的人不再威嚇他們。」
上帝永遠與受欺壓的弱勢者同在，上帝更是喜悅祂的兒女們：「行公義、好憐憫，存謙卑的心與上帝同行！」
