28:1 耶和華的話又臨到我說：
28:2 「人子啊，你對泰爾君王說，主耶和華如此說：因你心裡高傲，說：我是神；我在海中坐神之位。你雖然居心自比神，也不過是人，並不是神！
28:3 看哪，你比但以理更有智慧，甚麼祕事都不能向你隱藏。
28:4 你靠自己的智慧聰明得了金銀財寶，收入庫中。
28:5 你靠自己的大智慧和貿易增添資財，又因資財心裡高傲。
28:6 「所以主耶和華如此說：因你居心自比神，
28:7 我必使外邦人，就是列國中的強暴人臨到你這裡；他們必拔刀砍壞你用智慧得來的美物，褻瀆你的榮光。
28:8 他們必使你下坑；你必死在海中，與被殺的人一樣。
28:9 在殺你的人面前你還能說「我是上帝」嗎？其實你在殺害你的人手中，不過是人，並不是神。
28:10 你必死在外邦人手中，與未受割禮（或譯：不潔；下同）的人一樣，因為這是主耶和華說的。」
1 The word of the Lord came to me:2
"Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:
"Because your heart is proud,
and you have said, 'I am a god,
I sit in the seat of the gods,
in the heart of the seas,'
yet you are but a man, and no god,
though you make your heart like the heart of a
god—
3 you are indeed wiser than Daniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4 by your wisdom and your understanding
you
have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5 by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and your heart has become proud in your
wealth—
6 therefore thus says the Lord God:
Because you make your heart
like the heart of a god,
7 therefore, behold, I will bring
foreigners upon you,
the most ruthless of the nations;
and they shall draw their swords against
the beauty of your wisdom
and defile your splendor.
8 They shall thrust you down into the pit,
and
you shall die the death of the slain
in the heart of the seas.
9 Will you still say, 'I am a god,'
in the presence of those who kill you,
though you are but a man, and no god,
in the hands of those who slay you?
10 You shall die the death of the
uncircumcised
by the hand of foreigners;
for
I have spoken, declares the Lord God."

這是上帝透過先知向泰爾宣告的話，相信這不僅是對泰爾說的，更是對一切自以為剛強、自以為有辦法、自以為義的人說的。正如6-9節說：『因你居心自比神，我必使外邦人，就是列國中的強暴人臨到你這裡；他們必拔刀砍壞你用智慧得來的美物，褻瀆你的榮光。他們必使你下坑；你必死在海中，與被殺的人一樣。在殺你的人面前你還能說「我是上帝」嗎？其實你在殺害你的人手中，不過是人，並不是神。』
人都無法勝過了，更哪來的能力勝過神、勝過上帝呢？因此人在上帝面前必須謙卑，必須靠耶穌基督的恩典，接受上帝從天而來的賜福，專心倚靠上帝，不要自以為有辦法、有能力！因為我們努力爭取的一切，抗爭的一切，都如草上的花：草一枯乾，花必凋謝！唯有遵行上帝旨意的，才永遠常存！
人若離了上帝，一切都算不得什麼了！快快來歸向上帝，靠著上帝在基督裡所設立的救恩！
