10:17 受圍困的人哪，當收拾你的財物，從國中帶出去。
10:18 因為耶和華如此說：這時候，我必將此地的居民，好像用機弦甩出去，又必加害在他們身上，使他們覺悟。
10:19 民說：禍哉！我受損傷；我的傷痕極其重大。我卻說：這真是我的痛苦，必須忍受。
10:20 我的帳棚毀壞；我的繩索折斷。我的兒女離我出去，沒有了。無人再支搭我的帳棚，掛起我的幔子。
10:21 因為牧人都成為畜類，沒有求問耶和華，所以不得順利；他們的羊群也都分散。
10:22 有風聲！看哪，敵人來了！有大擾亂從北方出來，要使猶大城邑變為荒涼，成為野狗的住處。
10:23 耶和華啊，我曉得人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的腳步。
10:24 耶和華啊，求你從寬懲治我，不要在你的怒中懲治我，恐怕使我歸於無有。
10:25 願你將忿怒傾在不認識你的列國中，和不求告你名的各族上；因為他們吞了雅各，不但吞了，而且滅絕，把他的住處變為荒場。
17 Gather up your bundle from the ground,
O you who dwell under siege!
18 For thus says the Lord:
"Behold, I am slinging out the
inhabitants of the land
at this time,
and
I will bring distress on them,
that they may feel it."
19 Woe is me because of my hurt!
My
wound is grievous.
But I said, "Truly this is an
affliction,
and I must bear it."
20 My tent is destroyed,
and all my cords are broken;
my children have gone from me,
and
they are not;
there is no one to spread my tent again
and to set up my curtains.
21 For the shepherds are stupid
and do not inquire of the Lord;
therefore they have not prospered,
and
all their flock is scattered.
22 A voice, a rumor! Behold, it comes! —
a
great commotion out of the north country
to make the cities of Judah a desolation,
a
lair of jackals.
23 I know, O Lord, that the way of man is
not in himself,
that it is not in man who walks to direct
his steps.
24 Correct me, O Lord, but in justice;
not in your anger, lest you bring me to
nothing.
25 Pour out your wrath on the nations that
know you not,
and on the peoples that call not on your
name,
for
they have devoured Jacob;
they have devoured him and consumed him,
and have laid waste his habitation.

先知在此說明為何信靠上帝的國仍然受到侵略，也在此讓人看見生命的無奈，所以發出讓人非常感傷的禱告：「耶和華啊，我曉得人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的腳步。耶和華啊，求你從寬懲治我，不要在你的怒中懲治我，恐怕使我歸於無有。願你將忿怒傾在不認識你的列國中，和不求告你名的各族上；因為他們吞了雅各，不但吞了，而且滅絕，把他的住處變為荒場。」
雖然如此，上帝依然是猶大百姓的盼望，祂知道今日的狀態勢來自他們的牧人，也就是他們的領袖不倚靠上帝，不求告上帝的名！追求的，就是自己的益處，自己的權勢！
這也讓教會的領袖與牧者一個很深的反省，我們是否以上帝的話語和上帝的愛來牧養我們的羊呢？上帝記然將自己用寶血買贖回來的人，交在我們手中，託付給我們，我們有沒有好好照管呢？
