6:11 世界在上帝面前敗壞，地上滿了強暴。
6:12 上帝觀看世界，見是敗壞了；凡有血氣的人在地上都敗壞了行為。
6:13 上帝就對挪亞說：「凡有血氣的人，他的盡頭已經來到我面前；因為地上滿了他們的強暴，我要把他們和地一併毀滅。
6:14 你要用歌斐木造一隻方舟，分一間一間地造，裡外抹上松香。
6:15 方舟的造法乃是這樣：要長三百肘，寬五十肘，高三十肘。
6:16 方舟上邊要留透光處，高一肘。方舟的門要開在旁邊。方舟要分上、中、下三層。
6:17 看哪，我要使洪水氾濫在地上，毀滅天下；凡地上有血肉、有氣息的活物，無一不死。
6:18 我卻要與你立約；你同你的妻，與兒子兒婦，都要進入方舟。
6:19 凡有血肉的活物，每樣兩個，一公一母，你要帶進方舟，好在你那裡保全生命。
6:20 飛鳥各從其類，牲畜各從其類，地上的昆蟲各從其類，每樣兩個，要到你那裡，好保全生命。
6:21 你要拿各樣食物積蓄起來，好作你和牠們的食物。」
6:22 挪亞就這樣行。凡上帝所吩咐的，他都照樣行了。
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God
saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted
their ways. 13 So
God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is
filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them
and the earth. 14 So
make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch
inside and out. 15 This
is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty
cubits wide and thirty cubits high. 16 Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an
opening one cubit high all around.
Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.
17 I am going to bring
floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature
that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.
18 But I will establish my
covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife
and your sons’ wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living
creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of
every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground
will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be

上帝向挪亞宣告自己的心意和將來的計劃，並且要挪亞造方舟來做拯救的工作。而挪亞的反應是什麼呢？聖經告訴我們：「挪亞就這樣行。凡上帝所吩咐的，他都照樣行了。」
對基督徒而言，我們也要像挪亞一樣，上帝所吩咐、所命令的每一件事都要努力遵行，不可以東挑西挑，只挑自己想做的，自己不想做得就不去做。這樣就不是遵行上帝旨意了！
而上帝在這裡的作為，讓我們再一次感受到，上帝得拯救就是留下餘種。也因為有餘種，生命才能延續下去，完成上帝拯救的計劃。
