24:15 「你們看見先知但以理所說的『那行毀壞可憎的』站在聖地（讀這經的人須要會意）。
24:16 那時，在猶太的，應當逃到山上；
24:17 在房上的，不要下來拿家裡的東西；
24:18 在田裡的，也不要回去取衣裳。
24:19 當那些日子，懷孕的和奶孩子的有禍了。
24:20 你們應當祈求，叫你們逃走的時候，不遇見冬天或是安息日。
24:21 因為那時必有大災難，從世界的起頭直到如今，沒有這樣的災難，後來也必沒有。
24:22 若不減少那日子，凡有血氣的總沒有一個得救的；只是為選民，那日子必減少了。
24:23 那時，若有人對你們說：『基督在這裡』，或說：『基督在那裡』，你們不要信！
24:24 因為假基督、假先知將要起來，顯大神蹟、大奇事，倘若能行，連選民也就迷惑了。
24:25 看哪，我預先告訴你們了。
24:26 若有人對你們說：『看哪，基督在曠野裡』，你們不要出去！或說：『看哪，基督在內屋中』，你們不要信！
24:27 閃電從東邊發出，直照到西邊。人子降臨也要這樣。
24:28 屍首在哪裡，鷹也必聚在那裡。」
24:29 「那些日子的災難一過去，日頭就變黑了，月亮也不放光，眾星要從天上墜落，天勢都要震動。
24:30 那時，人子的兆頭要顯在天上，地上的萬族都要哀哭。他們要看見人子，有能力，有大榮耀，駕著天上的雲降臨。
24:31 他要差遣使者，用號筒的大聲，將他的選民，從四方（方：原文是風），從天這邊到天那邊，都招聚了來。」
24:32 「你們可以從無花果樹學個比方：當樹枝發嫩長葉的時候，你們就知道夏天近了。
24:33 這樣，你們看見這一切的事，也該知道人子近了，正在門口了。
24:34 我實在告訴你們，這世代還沒有過去，這些事都要成就。
24:35 天地要廢去，我的話卻不能廢去。」
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the
sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b]
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

主耶穌說：「閃電從東邊發出，直照到西邊。人子降臨也要這樣。屍首在哪裡，鷹也必聚在那裡。」
是要告訴我們耶穌基督的再臨是公開，是全世界的人類都會知道的，絕對不會是用神秘或隱藏的方式進行！正如使徒傳第一章的描述：「加利利人哪，你們為甚麼站著望天呢？這離開你們被接升天的耶穌，你們見他怎樣往天上去，他還要怎樣來。」（11節）
正如本章接下來的29-31節說：「那些日子的災難一過去，日頭就變黑了，月亮也不放光，眾星要從天上墜落，天勢都要震動。那時，人子的兆頭要顯在天上，地上的萬族都要哀哭。他們要看見人子，有能力，有大榮耀，駕著天上的雲降臨。他要差遣使者，用號筒的大聲，將他的選民，從四方（方：原文是風），從天這邊到天那邊，都招聚了來。」
也因為如此，我們要隨時準備好自己，等待主耶穌的再臨！而主耶穌是必定會再來的，怕的是我們沒有準備好，以至於主耶穌再來的時候，驚慌失措！然而我們如何準備主耶穌的再來呢？就是要靠主成為聖潔的子民，我們就會和其他弟兄姊妹存歡喜快樂的心，迎接主耶穌的再臨！
