阿摩司書3:1-7

3:1 以色列人哪，你們全家是我從埃及地領上來的，當聽耶和華攻擊你們的話：

3:2 在地上萬族中，我只認識你們；因此，我必追討你們的一切罪孽。

3:3 二人若不同心，豈能同行呢？

3:4 獅子若非抓食，豈能在林中咆哮呢？少壯獅子若無所得，豈能從洞中發聲呢？

3:5 若沒有機檻，雀鳥豈能陷在網羅裡呢？網羅若無所得，豈能從地上翻起呢？

3:6 城中若吹角，百姓豈不驚恐呢？災禍若臨到一城，豈非耶和華所降的嗎？

3:7 主耶和華若不將奧祕指示他的僕人─眾先知，就一無所行。

Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:

  “You only have I known

of all the families of the earth;

therefore I will punish you

for all your iniquities.

  “Do two walk together,

unless they have agreed to meet?

  Does a lion roar in the forest,

when he has no prey?

Does a young lion cry out from his den,

if he has taken nothing?

  Does a bird fall in a snare on the earth,

when there is no trap for it?

Does a snare spring up from the ground,

when it has taken nothing?

  Is a trumpet blown in a city,

and the people are not afraid?

Does disaster come to a city,

unless the Lord has done it?

  “For the Lord God does nothing

without revealing his secret

to his servants the prophets.

    上帝愛世人，所以透過先知將自己要做的事宣告出來，好叫人可以悔改－－歸向上帝，離棄罪惡。

    然而上帝最為認識的以色列人，竟然最充滿罪惡呢！因為他們不聽先知的話，甚至基督來了都不知道呢！

    今日教會若不警醒，也會落入以色列的下場，尤其是自以為是基督徒，卻不好好追求認識信仰的人，更是如此！在審判時，耶穌說：我不認識你們！

阿摩司書2:11-16

2:11 我從你們子弟中興起先知，又從你們少年人中興起拿細耳人。以色列人哪，不是這樣嗎？這是耶和華說的。

2:12 你們卻給拿細耳人酒喝，囑咐先知說：不要說預言。

2:13 看哪，在你們所住之地，我必壓你們，如同裝滿禾捆的車壓物一樣。

2:14 快跑的不能逃脫；有力的不能用力；剛勇的也不能自救。

2:15 拿弓的不能站立；腿快的不能逃脫；騎馬的也不能自救。

2:16 到那日，勇士中最有膽量的，必赤身逃跑。這是耶和華說的。

And I raised up some of your sons for prophets,

and some of your young men for Nazirites.

Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel?”

declares the Lord.

  “But you made the Nazirites drink wine,

and commanded the prophets,

saying, You shall not prophesy.’

  “Behold, I will press you down in your place,

as a cart full of sheaves presses down.

  Flight shall perish from the swift,

and the strong shall not retain his strength,

nor shall the mighty save his life;

  he who handles the bow shall not stand,

and he who is swift of foot shall not save himself,

nor shall he who rides the horse save his life;

  and he who is stout of heart among the mighty

shall flee away naked in that day,”

declares the Lord.

    對以色列人而言先知和拿細耳來說是上帝的代表，然而以色列人卻沒有好好對待上帝的僕人！卻使他們無法是奉上帝，正如經文說：「你們卻給拿細耳人酒喝，囑咐先知說：不要說預言。」

    因為拿細耳人是不可以喝酒的，不可以剪頭髮，這是拿細耳人與上帝之間的約。若是喝了酒，就毀了約，與上帝沒有關係了，無法再事奉上帝！所以，以色列人叫拿細耳人喝酒，是故意破上帝的約。

    先知是要傳上帝的話，使以色列人離開罪惡歸向上帝。然而，以色列人不喜歡聽先知的話，所以不要先知說話，禁止先知說話，甚至殺害先知。也因此以色列人一直在罪中，雖然以色列人是上帝的選民，卻是離上帝很遠。

    上帝要追討以色列的悖逆，以色列是無法自救的，而這一切更是自己造成的，上帝必懲罰的，因為上帝是公義的。雖然如此，上帝仍然沒有忘記以色列人，仍然從他們當中興起基督，來拯救全人類，正如約翰福音3章16節所說：「上帝愛世人，甚至將他的獨生子賜給他們，叫一切信他的，不致滅亡，反得永生。」

阿摩司書2:9-10

2:9 我從以色列人面前除滅亞摩利人。他雖高大如香柏樹，堅固如橡樹，我卻上滅他的果子，下絕他的根本。

2:10 我也將你們從埃及地領上來，在曠野引導你們四十年，使你們得亞摩利人之地為業。

“Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,

whose height was like the height of the cedars

and who was as strong as the oaks;

I destroyed his fruit above

and his roots beneath.

  Also it was I who brought you up out of the land of Egypt

and led you forty years in the wilderness,

to possess the land of the Amorite.

    上帝利用亞摩利人的狀況，讓以色列人認識，不是他們比亞摩利人做得好，而是上帝親自揀選他們，使他們成為上帝的子民。因為這是上帝的主權與恩典，更是祂的憐憫。

    雖然亞摩利人比以色列人強壯與高大，但是上帝卻消滅他們，把他們的土地賜給以色列人。所以不是看人的條件，而是看上帝的作為。

    這也提醒我們，要看重上帝的主權，靠耶穌恢復和上帝有何好關係，使耶穌基督為生命的主，成為上帝所喜悅的！
