那鴻書1:12-15

1:12 耶和華如此說：尼尼微雖然勢力充足，人數繁多，也被剪除，歸於無有。猶大啊，我雖然使你受苦，卻不再使你受苦。

1:13 現在我必從你頸項上折斷他的軛，扭開他的繩索。

1:14 耶和華已經出令，指著尼尼微說：你名下的人必不留後；我必從你神的廟中除滅雕刻的偶像和鑄造的偶像；我必因你鄙陋，使你歸於墳墓。

1:15 看哪，有報好信傳平安之人的腳登山，說：猶大啊，可以守你的節期，還你所許的願吧！因為那惡人不再從你中間經過，他已滅絕淨盡了。

Thus says the Lord,

“Though they are at full strength and many,

they will be cut down and pass away.

Though I have afflicted you,

I will afflict you no more.

  And now I will break his yoke from off you

and will burst your bonds apart.”

  The Lord has given commandment about you:

“No more shall your name be perpetuated;

from the house of your gods I will cut off

the carved image and the metal image.

I will make your grave, for you are vile.”

   Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him

who brings good news,

who publishes peace!

Keep your feasts, O Judah;

fulfill your vows,

for never again shall the worthless pass through you;

he is utterly cut off.

    這是對尼尼微城將敗弱之預言，在當時可能沒有人會相信。但是，以整個歷史來看，這樣是真的發生，猶大國也沒有被亞述帝國打敗，反倒是亞述帝國，被巴比倫帝國打敗！

    這裡讓我們感受到，上帝才是歷史真正的主宰，歷史是掌握在上帝手中，尤其是帝國的興亡交替，都是在上帝的手中掌握住。也因此，人在上帝面前要謙卑，因為上帝要高升誰就高升誰，要降低誰就降低誰，祂有絕對之主權！

    也因此，我們不要害怕時代巨輪如何，這一切都在上帝掌握之中！

那鴻書1:6-11

1:6 他發忿恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的忿怒如火傾倒；磐石因他崩裂。

1:7 耶和華本為善，在患難的日子為人的保障，並且認得那些投靠他的人。

1:8 但他必以漲溢的洪水淹沒尼尼微，又驅逐仇敵進入黑暗。

1:9 尼尼微人哪，設何謀攻擊耶和華呢？他必將你們滅絕淨盡；災難不再興起。

1:10 你們像叢雜的荊棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯乾的碎秸全然燒滅。

1:11 有一人從你那裡出來，圖謀邪惡，設惡計攻擊耶和華。

Who can stand before his indignation?

Who can endure the heat of his anger?

His wrath is poured out like fire,

and the rocks are broken into pieces by him.

  The Lord is good,

a stronghold in the day of trouble;

he knows those who take refuge in him.

  But with an overflowing flood

he will make a complete end of the adversaries,

and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

  What do you plot against the Lord?

He will make a complete end;

trouble will not rise up a second time.

  For they are like entangled thorns,

like drunkards as they drink;

they are consumed like stubble fully dried.

  From you came one

who plotted evil against the Lord,

a worthless counselor.

    這是對尼尼微人發出的警告，因為尼尼微是亞述帝國的首都。亞述帝國不僅滅了以色列國，更是猶大國第一大的敵國，對猶大的存亡有很大的威脅。所以先知那鴻發預言攻擊尼尼微人。

    當然先知那鴻也安慰上帝的子民，告訴他們：「耶和華本為善，在患難的日子為人的保障，並且認得那些投靠他的人！」

    上帝必保守猶大國的人民，必大大攻擊尼尼微人，因為上帝是大能的上帝，「他發忿恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的忿怒如火傾倒；磐石因他崩裂」。

    所以，我們要勇敢來倚靠上帝的大能大力，祂樂意施恩保護他的子民！

1:1 論尼尼微的默示，就是伊勒歌斯人那鴻所得的默示。

1:2 耶和華是忌邪施報的上帝。耶和華施報大有忿怒；向他的敵人施報，向他的仇敵懷怒。

1:3 耶和華不輕易發怒，大有能力，萬不以有罪的為無罪。他乘旋風和暴風而來，雲彩為他腳下的塵土。

1:4 他斥責海，使海乾了，使一切江河乾涸。巴珊和迦密的樹林衰殘；黎巴嫩的花草也衰殘了。

1:5 大山因他震動；小山也都消化。大地在他面前突起；世界和住在其間的也都如此。

An oracle concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum of Elkosh.

 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God;

the Lord is avenging and wrathful;

the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries

and keeps wrath for his enemies.

  The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,

and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.

His way is in whirlwind and storm,

and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

  He rebukes the sea and makes it dry;

he dries up all the rivers;

Bashan and Carmel wither;

the bloom of Lebanon withers.

  The mountains quake before him;

the hills melt;

the earth heaves before him,

the world and all who dwell in it.

    先知慣用的手法，就是用上帝的大能可以震撼大地，來讓人注意上帝要對人宣告的話語，也讓人清楚上帝的威嚴和榮耀。但是上帝不僅是威嚴與榮耀，更重要是上帝的公義：「萬不以有罪的為無罪。」

    也因此人要脫離罪惡，才不會遭惹上帝的憤怒！然而人唯有靠耶穌基督的拯救，才可以脫離罪惡，成為上帝聖潔的兒女。

哈巴谷書3:17-19

3:17 雖然無花果樹不發旺，葡萄樹不結果，橄欖樹也不效力，田地不出糧食，圈中絕了羊，棚內也沒有牛；

3:18 然而，我要因耶和華歡欣，因救我的上帝喜樂。

3:19 主耶和華是我的力量；他使我的腳快如母鹿的蹄，又使我穩行在高處。這歌交與伶長，用絲弦的樂器。

Though the fig tree should not blossom,

nor fruit be on the vines,

the produce of the olive fail

and the fields yield no food,

the flock be cut off from the fold

and there be no herd in the stalls,

yet I will rejoice in the Lord;

 I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

God, the Lord, is my strength;

 he makes my feet like the deer's;

he makes me tread on my high places.

 To the choirmaster:with stringed instruments.

    「主耶和華是我的力量」是整本書的高潮，若沒有耶和華成為我們的力量，我們就無法突破環境的限制，正如這裡說的環境是多麼遭：「無花果樹不發旺，葡萄樹不結果，橄欖樹也不效力，田地不出糧食，圈中絕了羊，棚內也沒有牛」！

    因為，可以在這惡劣的環境「因耶和華歡欣，因救我的上帝喜樂」！因為「主耶和華是我的力量」，所以「我的腳快如母鹿的蹄，穩行在高處。」

    也因為此，哈巴谷做了這首快樂的歌，如同在禮拜中的聖歌隊所獻的詩歌一樣，因著「主耶和華是我的力量」！
