2:18 耶和華上帝說：「那人獨居不好，我要為他造一個配偶幫助他。」
2:19 耶和華上帝用土所造成的野地各樣走獸和空中各樣飛鳥都帶到那人面前，看他叫甚麼。那人怎樣叫各樣的活物，那就是牠的名字。
2:20 那人便給一切牲畜和空中飛鳥、野地走獸都起了名；只是那人沒有遇見配偶幫助他。
2:21 耶和華上帝使他沉睡，他就睡了；於是取下他的一條肋骨，又把肉合起來。
2:22 耶和華上帝就用那人身上所取的肋骨造成一個女人，領她到那人跟前。
2:23 那人說：這是我骨中的骨，肉中的肉，可以稱她為「女人」，因為她是從「男人」身上取出來的。
2:24 因此，人要離開父母，與妻子連合，二人成為一體。
2:25 當時夫妻二人赤身露體，並不羞恥。
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a
helper suitable for him.”
19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the
birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them;
and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man
gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
But for Adam[f] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was
sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought
her to the man.
23 The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and
flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for
she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his
father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

第二個創造故事是用來補足第一個創造故事，特別是針對人的被造的意義，讀起來讓人覺得很貼心，尤其是對於女人的受造，讓男人和女人讀來都有特別的感動：讓女人覺得自己是尊榮的，而男人感受到上帝的眷顧！
的確，雖然世界的潮流偏向「性別平等」，甚至不反對「同性婚姻」。但是，上帝賦予男人與女人的任務不同，這卻是肯定的事實，因為在聖經中有創造的次序，也有角色的次序，人要遵照這樣的法則才能得著平安！因為這樣的次序不光是針對男女的婚姻，也針對教會與基督的關係，讓人由婚姻延伸到永世的救贖，這是上帝設立婚姻的意義！
也因為這樣，我們不只是反同婚，更重要的是求主保守：要使被揀選的人進入教會，並且讓教會成為基督聖潔的新婦，在耶穌基督寶血的洗淨下，成為沒有瑕疵和皺紋來歸給基督，與基督同享榮耀！
