出埃及記17:8-16

17:8 那時，亞瑪力人來在利非訂，和以色列人爭戰。
17:9 摩西對約書亞說：「你為我們選出人來，出去和亞瑪力人爭戰。明天我手裡要拿著上帝的杖，站在山頂上。」
17:10 於是約書亞照著摩西對他所說的話行，和亞瑪力人爭戰。摩西、亞倫，與戶珥都上了山頂。
17:11 摩西何時舉手，以色列人就得勝，何時垂手，亞瑪力人就得勝。
17:12 但摩西的手發沉，他們就搬石頭來，放在他以下，他就坐在上面。亞倫與戶珥扶著他的手，一個在這邊，一個在那邊，他的手就穩住，直到日落的時候。
17:13 約書亞用刀殺了亞瑪力王和他的百姓。
17:14 耶和華對摩西說：「我要將亞瑪力的名號從天下全然塗抹了；你要將這話寫在書上作紀念，又念給約書亞聽。」
17:15 摩西築了一座壇，起名叫「耶和華尼西」（就是耶和華是我旌旗的意思），
17:16 又說：「耶和華已經起了誓，必世世代代和亞瑪力人爭戰。」

⁸ The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. ⁹ Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”
¹⁰ So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. ¹¹ As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. ¹² When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. ¹³ So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.
¹⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”
¹⁵ Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner. ¹⁶ He said, “Because hands were lifted up against^[c] the throne of the Lord,^[d] the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.”

   禱告本身沒有什麼力量，可是禱告發出來得力量可大了！因為能力是來自上帝，是上帝使約書亞的勝利，不是禱告使約書亞勝過亞瑪力人！這是我們要認識清楚，禱告的人才不會居功，才不會奪去上帝的榮耀！

    許多基督喜歡見證禱告很有效果，勸人要多多禱告！其是，不是勸人多多禱告，而是要勸人仰望上帝！人仰望與信靠上帝，就自然會禱告和尋求上帝，不必人的勸說！可見，禱告之前須要接受上帝所賜的信心，就知道當如何求、如何仰望上帝了！

    親愛的弟兄姐妹，要靠主耶穌的名，在聖靈的引導下，向天父上帝禱告，上帝必成就大事在我們中間！
