16 In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one
who made it,17 because
a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the
one who made it is living.
43 So
the Lord gave Israel all the land
he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and
settled there. 44 The Lord
gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one
of their enemies withstood them; the Lord
gave all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed;
every one was fulfilled.
16 For when I
preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if
I do not preach the gospel!17 If I preach voluntarily, I
have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed
to me.
