19:10 「你要在同去的人眼前打碎那瓶，
19:11 對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我要照樣打碎這民和這城，正如人打碎窯匠的瓦器，以致不能再囫圇。並且人要在陀斐特葬埋屍首，甚至無處可葬。
19:12 耶和華說：我必向這地方和其中的居民如此行，使這城與陀斐特一樣。
19:13 耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿是已經被玷污的，就是他們在其上向天上的萬象燒香、向別神澆奠祭的宮殿房屋，都必與陀斐特一樣。』」
19:14 耶利米從陀斐特─就是耶和華差他去說預言的地方─回來，站在耶和華殿的院中，對眾人說：
19:15 「萬軍之耶和華─以色列的上帝如此說：我必使我所說的一切災禍臨到這城和屬城的一切城邑，因為他們硬著頸項不聽我的話。」
“Then you shall break the flask in the
sight of the men who go with you, and
shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: So will I break this people
and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, so that it can never be mended.
Men shall bury in Topheth because there will be no place else to bury. Thus will I do to this place, declares the
Lord, and to its inhabitants, making this city like Topheth. The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the
kings of Judah—all the houses on whose roofs offerings have been offered to all
the host of heaven, and drink offerings have been poured out to other
gods—shall be defiled like the place of Topheth.’”
Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to
prophesy, and he stood in the court of the Lord's house and said to all the
people: “Thus says the Lord of hosts,
the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns
all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened
their neck, refusing to hear my words.”

上帝要耶利米用瓦器的破碎，來宣告上帝不可能和犯罪滿滿的猶大國修復關係，不再保護他們，會讓四圍的仇敵來攻擊他們。使他們徹底認識到，離開上帝敬拜別神是多麼可怕的事！他們一失去上帝的保護，就會面臨到極大的災難！
或許您會說上帝是慈悲憐憫的，不會這麼狠心吧？但是，上帝不願意祂所摯愛的子民離棄祂，失去活水源泉的供應，每天就像一個有體無魂的人！這樣，人只有歸向滅亡！也因此，上帝透過聖靈啟示，使我們認出耶穌基督是誰！
也因此，我們一定要好好把握聖靈所啟示的耶穌基督的拯救，在基督裡享受上帝一切的豐盛，然後歸榮耀給上帝！如此，上帝的心意才會得著滿足，因為上帝拯救我們，是為了自己的榮耀！我們接受耶穌基督為救主，成為上帝的兒女，就是榮耀上帝！
