8:22 在耶和華造化的起頭，在太初創造萬物之先，就有了我。
8:23 從亙古，從太初，未有世界以前，我已被立。
8:24 沒有深淵，沒有大水的泉源，我已生出。
8:25 大山未曾奠定，小山未有之先，我已生出。
8:26 耶和華還沒有創造大地和田野，並世上的土質，我已生出。
8:27 他立高天，我在那裡；他在淵面的周圍，劃出圓圈。

22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,[c][d]
before his deeds of old;
23 I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;
25 before the mountains were settled in place,
before the hills, I was given birth,
26 before he made the world or its fields
or any of the dust of the earth.
27 I was there when he set the heavens in place,
when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
28 when he established the clouds above
and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
29 when he gave the sea its boundary
so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
30 Then I was constantly[e] at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
31 rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.

blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;

36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.”

這段經文常常讓人將「智慧」與「基督」視為等同，但是在我的看法中還是持著保留的態度，就是「智慧」與「基督」並不等同。因為「有了」有「被造」的意思在裡面，所以當初的用意只是將智慧當成一種上帝屬性的擬人化的描述。也因此，「智慧」是沒有位格的，不像「基督」是有獨立位格的。
在我們的信仰中，上帝是有位格的，而且是三個位格各自獨立，又是合而為一，所以亞他那修信經在描述的時候非常慎重的指明：「父是上帝，子是上帝，聖靈亦是上帝。然而，非三上帝，乃一上帝。」
也因為如此「智慧」與「基督」是有別的。我們只能感謝上帝以「智慧」來引導我們，而不能將「智慧」看成上帝，畢竟是上帝的作為在我們身上，當將榮耀歸給上帝本身。而我們在信仰上的經歷就是上帝作工在我們身上，將我們從罪中拯救出來，我們要來述說上帝的作為，不是述說自己和別人的努力或付出。因為我們在上帝的面前重要的是：上帝為我們做了甚麼，不是我們為上帝做了什麼！
