5:20 當傳揚在雅各家，報告在猶大說：
5:21 愚昧無知的百姓啊，你們有眼不看，有耳不聽，現在當聽這話。
5:22 耶和華說：你們怎麼不懼怕我呢？我以永遠的定例，用沙為海的界限，水不得越過。因此，你們在我面前還不戰兢嗎？波浪雖然翻騰，卻不能逾越；雖然匉訇，卻不能過去。
5:23 但這百姓有背叛忤逆的心；他們叛我而去，
5:24 心內也不說：我們應當敬畏耶和華─我們的上帝；他按時賜雨，就是秋雨春雨，又為我們定收割的節令，永存不廢。
5:25 你們的罪孽使這些事轉離你們；你們的罪惡使你們不能得福。
5:26 因為在我民中有惡人。他們埋伏窺探，好像捕鳥的人；他們設立圈套陷害人。
5:27 籠內怎樣滿了雀鳥，他們的房中也照樣充滿詭詐；所以他們得成為大，而且富足。
5:28 他們肥胖光潤，作惡過甚，不為人伸冤！就是不為孤兒伸冤，不使他亨通，也不為窮人辨屈。
5:29 耶和華說：我豈不因這些事討罪呢？豈不報復這樣的國民呢？
20 Declare this in the house of Jacob;
proclaim it in Judah:
21 "Hear this, O foolish and senseless
people,
who
have eyes, but see not,
who have ears, but hear not.
22 Do you not fear me? declares the Lord.
Do you not tremble before me?
I placed the sand as the boundary for the
sea,
a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;
though the waves toss, they cannot prevail;
though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
23 But this people has a stubborn and
rebellious heart;
they have turned aside and gone away.
24 They do not say in their hearts,
'Let us fear the Lord our God,
who
gives the rain in its season,
the autumn rain and the spring rain,
and keeps for us
the
weeks appointed for the harvest. '
25 Your iniquities have turned these away,
and your sins have kept good from you.
26 For wicked men are found among my
people;
they
lurk like fowlers lying in wait.
They
set a trap;
they catch men.
27 Like a cage full of birds,
their houses are full of deceit;
therefore they have become great and rich;
28 they have grown fat and sleek.
They know no bounds in deeds of evil;
they
judge not with justice
the cause of the fatherless, to make it
prosper,
and they do not defend the rights of the
needy.
29 Shall I not punish them for these
things?
declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?"

上帝透過先知來宣告：「你們怎麼不懼怕我呢？我以永遠的定例，用沙為海的界限，水不得越過。因此，你們在我面前還不戰兢嗎？波浪雖然翻騰，卻不能逾越；雖然匉訇，卻不能過去。」
但是人悖逆的心卻不願意遵守上帝的律法，並且遠離上帝，不像海水雖然翻騰波動，卻仍然受到上帝的限制，遵守上帝所立的界線。也因為人不願意伏在上帝的管束之下，使人失去上帝賜福。
這樣的信息讓我們知道，人要順服在上帝的引導下才能蒙福！但是，對人來說因為罪惡轄制的緣故，這是不可能的事！除非聖靈動工在我們的心中，我們才能真正願意藉由信靠耶穌基督來順服上帝！願聖靈的作為在每位讀者的心中，使您真正信靠耶穌基督而得上帝拯救並賜福！
